Absolutely love this servo. Have had one in a Blitz for almost a year now. Works great! No glitches. Ordering another one for my son's Blitz.
Great Servo. Ultra smooth, fast, and strong. Don't have any idea how they can sell it for $80. It's better then then the more expensive servo's ive used.
It's basically a JR Z9100s. Uses same horn size as a JR servo. I recommend getting the Dynamite horns because they slide right on. Perfect fit.
I've had this servo in at least four different vehicles over the past six years and it has performed without a hitch from day one. I've been using it in my T5M for the past year now and still going strong. Firm believer in "If you take care of your equipment,it will take care of you.
This servo has good specs and is practically identical to the savox 1258tg, while costing 10 dollars less. Mine performed well for a few weeks until problems with centering arose. My servo cannot center to save my life, for a minute it will run straight, then all the sudden run 15 trims to the right, and another 60 seconds later 15 trims to the left. This makes it impossible to drive straight because it feels like someone else is messing with the steering on your car. I am running this servo in an AE B5m, so its not like there is an unreasonable load being put through it. Compared to a 1258tg that i have had for years this servo is embarrassing.
I picked this servo up to put in my fresh 22T 2.0 stadium truck. For the past ~15 years I've been running the same analog Airtronics 94357 servos in my race vehicles. I finally decided to get a quality digital servo and went straight to Spektrum S6040 because of the great price and specs I wanted. I am very impressed with this servo, it's blazing fast and has plenty of torque for any 1/10 application. It's hard to pinpoint exactly where the performance differs against my old analog servos since it went in a truck with a totally updated steering system (1.0 vs 2.0 22T) but I can definitely say that the speed and holding power of this servo is top-notch. The case feels very rigid and the mounting tabs have ample reinforcement. The geartrain is all metal so stripped gears should not be a problem. My only complaint is that the servo does have some "whine" to it when torque is being applied against the servo, but I think that's pretty typical; it's just louder than I was expecting. Overall, I think it's the perfect 1/10 racing servo, especially at it's pricepoint. I was so impressed I ordered a second one for my 22SCT and will pick up a low-pro for my buggy.
Had these servos in my buggy and it worked so well that I bought one for my sons electric buggy. I bought 2 more as spares and the warranty was done long before I had to use them. They do buzz a little bit but I'm very happy with their speed and torque.
This servo came in a FT RC10T4 roller I bought off eBay (no servo saver). I'm fairly new to the hobby, and this was my first RC. 6 months and many violent crashes later it is still going strong. You'll notice the noise, but it's not annoying. Considering this servo was ran for who knows how long before I bought it, then survived my slow, steep learning curve and is still going strong in my new T4.2 is testament to its durability, longevity, and performance.
Heard from local indoor clay track folks, that a lot of them were running this sevo. Most of them on Losi, but I purchased for a Slash 2WD VXL. I'm pleased with its performance, but have only ran it for one indoor practice. Seems really fast. Quality product, does not glitch.
It was either this or the Savox SC-1258TG, which has pretty much the exact same specifications and price. I decided since I would be running this paired with a castlecreations esc, I would go with the Spektrum since the Savox servos tend to be power hungry on the internal BEC's. Very fast and strong for the price. A little loud, but worth it for the price.
Just put one of these in my XXX-T MF2. Very fast servo. I can tell already I'm going to like it over the HS625MG pos I had in there. LOL
I bought a second one to go in the buggy and I will buy a third for the SCTE too.
Awsome. I have one in my losi 10 scte and I run on an outdoor 8 scale track. This servos going strong for over 5 months now, I am going to get another for my 2wd application
Best servo buy going! Have one in my FT SC10 2wd and it's fantastic. Very fast, smooth, powerful, and quiet. Not a single thing to complain about. Unless you NEED a servo with more power, you can't go wrong with this one.
very impressed with this servo in 4wd buggy,SCT latemodel great price and no bad reviews!
Quick, responsive and a great replacement for the sc10 rtr servo!
I have one of these in my RC8Te and its been awesome. I know its not recommended for 1/8th scale applications but i have yet to have and issue with it and it really does move those big truggy wheels side to side wicked quick and with out an issue. I have also had plenty of big spills with my truggy and like i said am yet to break it. If you curious and want a quick as steering servo i highly recommend it.
This servo is very reliable for racing indoors. i haven't raced outside yet but i think it will do just as good. i have no idea how they could sell this good of a servo for $80. i have this on my traxxas slash vxl and it made it run a lot faster. i cant wait to use this on my sc10
