This is the all new HPI Hellfire RTR 1/8th scale competition monster truck from HPI Racing! HPI Racing has added a completely new 1/8th scale truck to its market leading monster truck line up. This truck is Ready To Run, and all you need to complete it are batteries for the transmitter, receiver and shaft start system, battery charger, fuel, fuel bottle and glow ignitor.
The new Hellfire is designed from scratch with only one goal: maximum performance in all conditions! No compromise - the Hellfire is not a converted buggy or tuned up monster truck. It is purpose built to be faster and give better handling than any other competitive truck.
A high level of attention to detail is paid in every area. HPI designers strove to increase performance, reduce maintenance and simplify chassis adjustments. The result is a new definition for "performance truck".

Hellfire is extremely light weight and powered by a new more powerful Nitro Star K4.6 HO engine. The new engine is based on the proven HPI Nitro Star K4.6 known from the Savage SS 4.6. The new "High Output" version provides increased horse power and more torque.

HPI Hellfire RTR 1/8 Competition Monster Truck
I had the kit version, it was not a good kit. I hated it! The looks of this truck are awesome, very original body, which I love still. The handling and all, it is no good. The diffs leak and the center diff was warped. Eventhough I sealed my diffs, the diffs ended up still leaking.

Why pay $559 for a truck that has to be modded right out of the box....? Not worth the time or money.

if you have a hightened level of mechanical skill and engineering ability as I do this truck is great. it runs great and gives me much pleasure making something with some quirks work like a precision clock. If you are a short fat kid with no ability other than sitting on the couch popping zits and eating chips buy a Losi

i have hellfire ss really nice truck but rtr is ok but the SS is really nice this is killer truggy is though and fast ,i race with and WIN is really funny because this truck is discontunied

Ran the ss for a season....it just can't keep up with the losi, mugens and kyosho's. It is very heavy and lacks the steering of the other high end truggies. I also went through ALOT of parts. I will be running a Mugen next year.

Not the best, but certainly not the worst. It's heavy, but there are heavier. With normal care, I've found it to be very durable. A great bargain.

While I agree this is a heavy truggy, it is very well built and very suitable for the average person. Mine has been very reliable and runs well. The recent price drop has made this a viable option. I also own a Mugen MBX5T Prospec.

This truck is no truggy. Don't expect to win races with it. Playing everywhere else is good. Needs a steering servo right away, as most rtr's do.Great brakes, easy to work on, EXCELLENT instructions about how to setup and tune an offroad suspension. If you have a savage you will love it. If you want to race... go buy a real truggy like a mugen, losi, jammin or kyosho... but otherwise its a decent truck for an intermediate.

Well I just wanted to let everyone know what a cheap kit this is.. It's has more problems then anything I ever purchased.. If your looking to buy a new kit I would stay away from this one..
Part's replaced: steering servo broke on first run, plastic shock caps, tires will come unglued, just to start.. shock's not set up right. will have to replace with aftermarket. I will never by hpi..
I was at crystal park on friday and I had a first hand look at the new losi eight t. let me tell spend the money and get the kit it's run's circles around everything.. I have nerver seen a truggy run like a losi eigth t. This was clearing tripples and jumming 15 to 16 feet in the air, it unreal..
Factory set up with a modified ofna jammin 28.
I was so amazed by the performace I went out and bought one.. I would of bought a jammin but not crazy about the tall gear ration, it's old school.

all in all its a pretty good truck for an rtr, when i got it it wasnt like alot of the rtr's ive seen that are barely assembled. when i got it everythng on it was tight and i didnt have the least bit of problems with anything coming loose. my only complaint was the steering servo, get a metal geared servo, the stock plastic geared servo sucks. i run with the guys at the track and it keeps up fine with the jammins and everything else. but the engine runs great at higher temps (around 260) but running at like 230 it bogs out and looses power so a higher running temp is fine for this truck so dont worry about that. all in all its a great rtr

ive had this Hellfire rtr from july i race it against the st1, mbx5t ,sut,x1crt, im on the podium mostly but it took a Hell of a lot on money and parts ,hopped it up with Savage hopups so far so good i need a bit more speed to keep up with the prospecs out there,more reasearch and development for me and my team mate,he"s totally frustrated with the "un"reliability,
$300 more buks to spend on parts and i might jump ship! not a bad basher though

Not a bad truck, but not for those who want speed. If you want to make it fast it will cost quite a bit. The cost of upgrades plus the sky high cost of the truck make it impractical. Go for a different rtr truggy like the jammin x1 crt rtr or the kyosho str rtr. Both are cheaper, faster, and in my opinion, of higher quality.

the hellfire is nice truck dont get me wrong when i say this if you buy the rtr you will have to put alot of extra money into it to become competitive it is pretty slow compared to other truggies that are less expensive. it is not the most durable truck out there. Most people who have them have to replace the steering servo in about 5 minutes of driving it the gears are extremely weak and strip out mine stripped out just driving in grass, not wrecking or anything just driving in grass. yeah the kit is brand new and some of the bugs are not worked out yet as of 05-07-06. there is not alot of options available for this truck yet, given time there will be plenty of hopups like i said earlier you will need most of the hopups to be competitive. the only think i tell you is please make sure you look at the diff options that are available. the good thing is that hpi has good customer support if you call if you email it takes longer.
