This is the Tekno RC V3 Brushless Kit with 42mm motor mount for the Mugen MBX6 1/8 buggy. This is the conversion that Travis Amezcua used to with the 1/8 Pro Electric Buggy race at the 2010 Silver State Nitro Challenge in Las Vegas! Not just another 'conversion', the Tekno RC V3 Brushless Kit is a total electric transformation! Featuring the first commercially available 1/8th scale electric specific chassis along with Tekno RC's innovative patent pending Elektri-Clutch system. This is the kit everyone has been waiting for:

Features:
  • Factory Finish - hard anodized chassis, black anodized and injection molded components
  • Lowest CG of any conversion, provides better handling and higher capacity batteries
  • 4mm 7075-T6 CNC hard anodized chassis - only the best, no stamping here
  • No extra holes, no drilling, no mods - designed for electric racing by electric racers
  • Patent pending Elektri-Clutch system to tune the power delivery of the hottest brushless motors. Our hardened steel clutchbells will last and last because the motor is disengaged from the drivetrain off power. For those that prefer direct drive, our kits are compatible with long shank 5mm bore mod1 pinions as well. More options and flexibility than any other kit on the market.
  • Patent pending 1-piece motor mount/heatsink fully supports your motor and provides superior cooling under the most rigorous conditions. Need more cooling? Slap a 40mm fan on the integrated fan mount
  • Mechanical brakes with front/rear brake bias provides world class handling while lowering operating temps and easing the stress on your motor, ESC, and drivetrain
  • Optimized left-to-right and front-to-rear weight balance - battery is as close to center as possible for the best handling of any electric 1/8th scale on the market
  • Included radio tray keeps the wires neat and features an integrated transponder mount
  • Low CG battery tray (165x52mm) is countersunk into the chassis -1.5mm and keeps the battery protected while allowing the most height clearance of any setup on the market
  • Proven tough Tekno RC battery strap system WILL protect your batteries and will NOT break from hard landings
  • Servo mounts feature integrated cable guides to keep your servo wires neat and away from hazardous moving parts
  • Includes full Tekno RC 1/8th Elektri-Clutch setup - adapter, clutch shoes, .8mm clutch springs, 13t 1/8th clutch bell and bearings, an unbeatable value
  • Custom chassis mud guards keep the dirt away and finish off the factory quality kit
  • Tekno RC - No compromises!
Note: 3 Channel radio with channel mixing may be required for use with mechanical brakes depending on your setup. M11, DX3R, DX3.0, Futaba 3PK, 4PK, etc.

Kit includes:

  • 1/8th Scale Electric specific 4mm CNC machined and hard anodized 7075-T6 chassis
  • Patent pending motor mount (available for 36mm or 44mm motor diameters)
  • Complete Tekno RC 1/8th Elektri-Clutch system - adapter, hard alum. shoes, .8mm springs, 13t clutch bell and bearings
  • Low CG long battery tray w/ new stronger battery straps (165x52mm)
  • Radio tray w/ integrated transponder mount
  • Servo mounts w/ integrated wire guides
  • Chassis mud guards
  • Rear chassis brace
  • All necessary hardware

Tekno RC V3 Brushless Kit Mugen MBX6 (42mm Castle/Tekin Motors)
Excellent kit. Quality of parts is great. I like having the option for mechanical brakes. More importantly it drives great. I didn't change a thing from my nitro setup other than add more spring preload to bring the ride height back to where it should be because it's slightly heavier overall. The stock mugen body won't fit, I used the J concepts Xray 808 body and it's nearly perfect. The angle of the steering arm linkage is a little more than I like but it hasn't caused a problem. To accomodate the battery Tekno moved the center diff over which puts slightly more angle on the drive shafts but it seems fine. I'm using a Maxamps 6500 60c 4s with a Tekin 1900kv, 13 tooth pinion and stock spur. 20 to 25 minutes run time. Their clutch setup works great but I'll try direct drive next, remember you have to use Tekno's long shank pinions for direct drive. Till Mugen kicks out their own e-buggy this is a good option for your MBX6.
