Combining the rugged, durable suspension found on the LST2™ with a rigid aluminum chassis, the Muggy gives drivers an incredible balance of all-terrain capabilities and handling. Molded Mega Shocks soak up the bumps and jumps, while 420-series wheels and tires grip the ground and propel the Muggy to incredible speeds. Power comes from a Losi Sport 427 engine equipped with an all-aluminum HT one-piece pipe and header. A center diff controls the distribution of power for optimum handling, while front and rear brakes bring the Muggy to a halt when needed. Front and rear sway bars accentuate the low center of gravity, giving the Muggy a solid feel on turns and straight-aways. Aluminum chassis braces add to the stability, and a high-capacity fuel tank feeds the 427 engine for long, high-speed runs.

Losi Muggy 4WD RTR Truck w/XR2i & 427 Engine
Got it broken in and having a blast. Mine shipped with a 12t clutchbell and high wear shoes, so I've run a quart through it so far without issue. Haven't taken it to the track yet, but it seems to do very well on rough bashing surfaces, soaks up most bumps without issue. The 427 tuned pretty easily and even on the rich side it has plenty of power to tear up the yard.

Losi Muggy 4WD RTR Truck w/XR2i & 427 Engine
After having nothing but problems with my Revo I was recommended this truck as a durable replacement. I stripped all the stock radio equipment, engine, fuel tank, etc. and converted it to electric using an RC-Monster motor mount and an Impakt/Tekno RC battery tray. In stock form it is very durable, but my weight balance needs some adjusting so it is rear-heavy off jumps and eventually broke a rear control arm. I replaced all the control arms with RPM LST/Aftershock arms with the RPM LST2/Muggy adapter kit and Lunsford titanium turnbuckles for the upper arms (RPM LST arms have adjustable camber) and so far it has been very durable. I was running it in a parking lot and accidentally hit a concrete curb with it and broke the steering ackerman off one of the spindles but that was it. The drivetrain is 10x better than anything Traxxas has, I tore up 2 driveshafts, a U-Joint, and a diff in roughly 1 hour with my Revo and Neu 1515 but nothing has broken yet on the Muggy under the power of a 80mm MedUsa motor.

Pros: Very durable even in stock form, handles well, stock tires have better tread life than I had expected, stock radio is good, but I replaced it with a DX 2.0 Tx, SR3000 Rx, and JR DS8711 steering servo.

Cons: Stock wheels and tires are very heavy, stock engine is garbage (person that bought mine had the rear bearing go bad after about 1 gallon), stock clutch goes out before you're done with break in (again, an issue with the nitro parts), stock wheel hexes are 20mm so you'll need 17mm hexes if you want to upgrade wheels, my biggest gripe with it is that certain parts are held on with standard screws and others use metric.

Final Thoughts: The Muggy is excellent out of the box and really doesn't need much by way of upgrades unless you keep it nitro. I'm getting 50+ MPH before the front end lifts and I have to back down to keep it from flipping and with 30K fluid in the center diff I can ride wheelies on the wing with the front tires ballooned way out. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a 1/8th Truggy to convert to electric, but in nitro form you're better off with something that either comes without an engine or comes with a higher quality engine.

Losi Muggy 4WD RTR Truck w/XR2i & 427 Engine
I bought this truck a couple years ago for my son and it has been a great truck. very durable easy to drive and the suspension works great. The muggy does have a very bad clutch issue. My fix for this truck was a fioroni twin turbo clutch, 12 tooth vented clutch bell,17mm wheel hubs, proline lpr tires, new diff and suspension fluids and a couple descent servo's. Made a huge difference in driveability for my 9 year old son. Once you have done this by a coulpe extra front shock shafts and you will be good to go.

Losi Muggy 4WD RTR Truck w/XR2i & 427 Engine
Im thinking about selling my muggy for a cen matrix tr arena rtr. is it a good deal? -//- This truck flies. If you are on a budget get this but if you are looking for a competitive truggy go with the 8ight-t. The 8ight costs alittle more. This is a fun truck to drive. I have xtreme racing carbon fiber parts, a dinamite hs hard anodized pipe, and a fironi carbon 2007 clutch system. This is a very good buy for the money. If you are planning on getting this get the fironi clutch, it helps with excelleration. -//- I got my muggy at a local hobbyshop for $650! The aceleration is consistant but slow but has a very good top end. Just make sure you use afterrun oil in the engine. I didnt and I found that the inside of the crankcase had rust in it.

Losi Muggy 4WD RTR Truck w/XR2i & 427 Engine
This truck is awesome! all you have to do to eliminate all of the clutch problems that the muggy has a reputation of having is get a 12 tooth clutch bell (vented preferably) and a 48T spur gear (the 8ight's fits). If you really want some punch you could also go with the fioroni 2 piece (instead of 4) black carbon clutch system.

Losi Muggy 4WD RTR Truck w/XR2i & 427 Engine
So Far, So Good. I have gone through three tanks and everything seems to be very smooth. According to Team Losi they have corrected the issue with the clutch. They have added an upgrade for longer wear. This is a great out of the box truck. It started up very quickly and seems easy to tune. She has nice buzzing sound as you accelerate. It is probably a team losi thing. You can tell quality as soon as you operate the vehicle. The dual steering servos steer the massive wheels very good. I like the colored brake and throttle collars. They are easy to tune. The JR 75 mgz radio is awesome. No need for very expensive spektrum. Good job Losi.

Losi Muggy 4WD RTR Truck w/XR2i & 427 Engine
Very Good Unit after a few modifications- Bump the steering servo's to 2XJR650's or 1XJR9000, Switch rims and tires to normal racing size, add a vented clutch bell (12Tooth), Dynamite clutch (With medium springs) and ceramic bearings (To eliminate the Bearing Problem Everyone Get's to deal with sooner or later). May sound like alot, but once completed this unit is a blast to drive and very forgiving and can hang with lighter weight truggy's.

Losi Muggy 4WD RTR Truck w/XR2i & 427 Engine
Very durable truggy. Just make sure you thread lock all metal to metal screws, and the center diff has no grease in it. To fix the clutch issues, I just put on a 12 tooth vented clutch bell and I got a decent life out of my normal clutch. On the track it isn't that nimble, but I was able to run 8 straight tanks though it, while other people were busy fixing their truggy. This is also one of the best jumping trucks out there. It jumps so level and landings are easy.

Losi Muggy 4WD RTR Truck w/XR2i & 427 Engine
this is a very good running truggy, but i had to spend extra money to get it to run right. THe user must change the stock clutch shoes cuz they only last a few tanks. The cure was the fioroini turbo twin sliding clutch system along with some ceramic bearings. The stock motor is only good for about 2-3 gallons of fuel.

Losi Muggy 4WD RTR Truck w/XR2i & 427 Engine
I bought this truck a while ago and found it had a horrible clutch problem, I would have given it a 3 out of 5 stars but I recently found the cure, the Fioroni turbo sliding clutch!

After installing the Fioroni it has been problem free and I think it is the best RC on the market now!

Here's my review for the Fioroni Slider:

"I was about to give up on my Losi Muggy, (AKA Losi Clutchkiller). I tried carbon shoes, 7075 aluminum shoes, low gearing, vented clutch bells, titanium nitride clutch bells and even expensive ceramic bearings, none of those things gave me more than 2-5 tanks of run-time, before the shoes melted and the bearings seized.

As a last resort I decided to buy the best clutch on the market, I bought the Fioroni turbo slider with the carbon shoes and put on a 12t vented clutch bell with ceramic bearings.

I can't believe how simple and effective this clutch is, it has outstanding grabbing power and after 3 GALLONS of fuel it shows no signs of wear.

Whoever came up with the shoe clutch is an idiot, shoe clutches are terrible, they have low grabbing power, chew up bearings, generate too much heat and are difficult to install.

Integy has made a slider clutch just like the fioroni but cheaper, the design will probably show up in RTRs soon, eventually the outdated shoe clutch might disappear."

Losi Muggy 4WD RTR Truck w/XR2i & 427 Engine
The Muggy is a very cool design, looks awsome, when its running its fast and is very controllable for a sport model, HOWEVER the clutch only lasts 4 to 6 tanks of fuel and then it burns up the bearings, clutch pads and clutch bell, At current there is no cure for this problem and all of them willdo it sooner or later, I would suggest you spendyour money on the Lst2 or wait for the Eight T as this truck just has to many problems to be a cost effective RTR.
