Mugen Seiki MBX7 1/8 Off-Road Competition Buggy Kit

I had been racing the MBX-6 for close to 3 years and although it had a few new revisions I stuck with the battery in the rear position and only updated to the long chassis. I admit I was a bit skeptical about a new buggy, but in all fairness every time Mugen makes an all new platform it's light years ahead of the previous version. The MBX-7 certainly holds true to the outstanding work that Mugen puts into a new chassis. It took a while to build this kit. This car is not for beginners I recommend if you have doubts get someone to help you learn how to build it correctly. For example, the diff shimming required the spacing to be open to allow free rotation. The diff bulkheads still leave a bit too much space between the halves and lets the diff wander around a bit. I fixed that with tiny pieces of lexan glued inside the bulkhead cover. This holds the diff solidly inside the bulkhead. A simple fix to just about the only issue with this car. The diffs do rotate freely once broken in, enough to make breaking a must, and this allows the car to run harder through the turn as commented on by most everyone who has driven one. I have only had one race on this car and a few practice days and setup required softer swaybars 2.2 front and 2.6 rear, and stiffer front springs and black non tapered pistons front and white non tapered pistons rear. I guess I'm old school. Back to the driving, this buggy rolls so free my mbx-6 feels like it has sand in the gears now. The forward battery placement makes it drive a bit more aggressive and still feels more controllable and consistent than the 6 did, certainly more stable. I moved the rear hubs forward one thin spacer width to put more weight over the rear tires due to the battery being forward. It seems to like a bit less droop than the 6 and slightly lighter rear oil. The front pivot balls lock into the front upper arms and provide the perfect camber angles. Looks like -1 on each side to me. The gear mesh is set from under the spur opening in the chassis as the plastic center diff cover makes it impossible to get to the gear from above, no big deal. I really like the clunk tank it is well made although the small fuel nipples will not allow me to run large fuel tubing. I'll figure that out later. About the odd battery holder borrowed from on road cars. it's pretty cool. I just used electrical tape wrapped around the ends like the instructions say although I found some gorilla tape close to the required width that looks like it would work more cleanly, but the electrical tape has held up nicely. I like the 6 air filter better. Bottom line this buggy is fast, has plenty of steering, and is more stable than I could believe. It certainly stands up to the hype of winning the worlds. After driving it for the last 3 weeks I can see why it was the world champion. It's freakin fast, and in the hands of a talented driver it is a deadly weapon.

I have a few months now on the new Mugen MBX7 and I couldn't be more impressed with the easy handling, fast corner speeds, jumping consistency and how long all the parts last. So far nothing breaking or even a bad day at the track. You won't be disappointed

New World Champ! The MBX7 is certainly one of the best and fastest buggies out there. The materials used are top quality with nicely anodized aluminum parts everywhere and plastic parts that never slop out. Compared to the MBX6 (my last buggy), there are so many little changes that really polish up the MBX7; new tank, adjustable wing, square steering links, milled out gears, aluminum shock towers, captured hinge pins, wider and longer chassis, rubber grommet supported rear body mount, and more. It’s hard to find anything really wrong with this buggy, its pretty dynamite straight out of the box. Wish I could buy two.

Ok what I can say till now this a RACE WORKHORSE buggy. I'm still a rookie in this field for what is driving but not a rookie concerning mechanical set up of buggies... The Mugen MBX7 if well setup is a MACHINE that runs runs and runs and never stops!
At the moment for me is the best buggy I ever owned and I highly recommend to everyone.

Backenblack is crazy. This is the worlds best 1/8th buggy. The qulity of all the parts are supurior to all the companies out there. There is no way back en black's buddy broke those parts on breaken. He probly did not built the kit properly. I have let my buddies run my buggy on the track and they beat the hell out of it. Nothing has broke on the buggy since I have owned it. I have alway's ran Mugen buggies and I would never go with any other type of 1/8th buggy other then Mugen. Buy the MBX7 and never look back just look forward for the next one to come out.

hey.. this is not a review about the buggy..sorry.. this is simply a comment about the guy with the 2 star review of this kit... be aware of how stupid his comments are.. his buddy broke all those parts braking in an engine... how many people have ever wrecked a car idling it and doing some slow figure 8's.. or maybe he had horrible radio interference and the buggy has had run aways... ive experienced this... but hey.. this guy does not own the kit.. they sound very inexperienced.. mugen is always great..

incredible kit, easy and fast to built, although beware of front, center and rear diffs assembly cause its no rightly clear on the manual, i also suggest to use hudy drivers and tools to built it you could lose a lot of screws with regular and bad quality tools and drivers, incredible performance on tight corners, jumps, and reliable, i would suggest this car to someone who has big pockets otherwise buy the electric kit versión....

great kit went together no problems really fun to do looks awesome get the short manafold or u will probably need to modify but overal great deal cant wait to run this buggy ps put the boots on before the ball ends of the suspension you will tear them!!

Simply put, the last weekend with my previous car I ran mid 28's at my local track. 3 weekends with this car and I am running in the Mid 26, low 27 range. It's just much, much faster. Super stable, and surprisingly durable. it's taken some ugly hits and it has held up very well. I think Mugen fixed the A-arm breakage issue, the thing is tough as nails, very lightweight out of the box and requires no upgrades. build and race.

The MBX7 is the best buggy I've ever owned. I have ran Losi, Associated and HPI and this one exceeds by far. There are only a few things I could think of that will make this buggy better. Upgrade the servo horns,battery holder and servo saver and this thing is unstopable!

The mbx7 eco should be available at the end of the year but you can convert your MBX7 with the tim bump conversion available at nitro house

Is there a Electric Conversion kits. Can I buy motor mount of MBX-6 Eco. Will this be fit? I prefer to run this on TEKIN with T8 2650kv motor. Any advice please comments?
