This is the XRAY XB808 2011 Spec Luxury 1/8 Nitro Off-Road Buggy Kit. XRAY XB808 2011 Spec Luxury 1/8 Nitro Off-Road Buggy Kit
Being a solid Xray fan for the last 2 years, I have 1 2009 808, 2 2010 808 buggies and just purchased the 2011 model, I am not here to bash, just to express my disappointment in this the latest model 808. First let me note we have gone through 5 diff bearing changes, this being the 5th and in mho the best. HOWEVER, this change could have been simply 4 parts the drive axle, the pinion gear, the diff case and the drive cup. Is it really necessary to make us purchase new buggies over and over again and not correct the problem???
Now I find they have finally fixed one issue and created another...... the mesh between the centre diff spur gear and the clutch bell is at such a bad angle, I find myself constantly blowing clutch bearings....
As a result, I took the front, centre and rear diff from the 2011 buggy and mounted them on the 2010 chassis.... now I have a sweet machine with no bearing issues.
Referring to my prior point why could XRay have not just sold us the 4 parts, for a problem the buggy has had from the inception.
I would be very hesitant to purchase any more XRay products.

XRAY XB808 2011 Spec Luxury 1/8 Nitro Off-Road Buggy Kit
I've run every version of XRay nitro offroad RC. And the '11 808 is what the original version should've been.

The diffs are now bulletproof again. The plastics are the very best in the industry as are the drivetrain mat'ls. The manual is awesome as always. The shocks are buttery smooth and leak free. The new hingepin holders are great! Change track-width as well as anti-squat etc.

You can throw an XRay kit into the air it and will practically fall to the ground fully built! Everything fit perfectly and worked smoothly.

Now for an 808T!!!

2 local guys been racing the 2011 here in OZ now for a couple of months; bullit proof diifs now. Picked mine up last week. And plenty of bling around for it too.......LOL

Exelente kit, va muy bien en rectas y en curvas, muy liviano 3250 gramos en orden de marcha, muy bueno en los saltos, acabados de lujo, se justifica el valor. En pistas cortas como la de RC-Colombia es mejor usar una campana mas pequeña de 15 o 14 dientes.

The buggy is a sweet machine......that being said now I tell you how I feel! I've been racing xray since the xb8ec where they gave you all the aluminum parts in the kit. Xray really needs to stop putting out new kits every year! It makes people so hesitant on purchasing a kit knowing that in a year they'll have an out dated buggy. Dont get me wrong I love the quality and durability it is the best in the industry hands down and I have owned quite a few kits so I know. Small changes not new kits.....we are still in a recession! A conversion kit for the 10 would have been great! Still give the kit 5 stars just stop killing our pockets!

dont pay any attention to the review by Christopher Wadman at the bottom, these reviews are about the buggy its self not about buying new buggys every year? this 2011 spec buggy is bullet proof and with the new release there has been some changes to correct any problems from previous models. its awesome to build and the buggy is so easy to drive and there are more adjustments on the car compared to earlier models its still very solid and well planted on the ground it jumps as well as anything out there and I have not broken any arms at all and thats since owning an 08 spec. xray has excellant back up support and from what I have seen are always striving to improve. but this time I think they may have it right. cheers

I dont know why anybody is having diff problems I run the 808 '08 and I only put the spacer that the '09 comes with and I get no diff problems I've run the picco boost motor radical 621t and a clockwork modded b6 no problems. Xray makes great kits just remember the kit is only as good as the person who is building it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

this is the buggy to get for 2011 typical xray quality all parts fit together so smoothly and the high detailed manual makes it easier even for a first timer. the new drive line has hugely improved reliability and handling,performance and typical xray tuffness is just as good as previous models.

Dont pay any attention to that review by Christopher below. Hes got his facts all mixed up. The new 808 is bullet proof in the diff department and in every department. As a matter of fact it was the 2010 that has diff issues and that has been all resolved with the 2011 version, god knows what that guy is talking about. For the 2010 you needed the 3bearing pinion to have strong diffs that can handle more load, Not the case with the new version at all. And XRAY makes very, very tough kits. Believe me Ive already owned 3 kits the 09 spec buggy, the XT8 and the 2010 spec buggy and when the time is right Ill pick up another as well. No kit you will ever pick will be built like this one or last as long as this one. You might spend a bit more initially but it pays off in the long run. So ignore the retarded comments and do the right thing and buy XRAY. Once you build one, you'll be wondering why you ever wasted your time with anything else.
