Losi 8IGHT-E 2.0 1/8 4WD Buggy Race Roller
Ec5 connectors are a nightmare to find. The esc is equiped with Ec5 connectors for the battery and not the standard losi Ec3. Just swith to deans or better yet traxxas so you won't slow down the large current from battery to esc. Esc fan stays on, sure to be a problem. Mabey buy just the kit and get 1700kv Castle with Mamba monster Esc. Support is good over the phone.

Losi 8IGHT-E 2.0 1/8 4WD Buggy Race Roller
I agree on the electronics, that's why I installed a Mamba Monster 2200kv combo with a 13t pinion. That is an awesome set-up! Strong, reliable, smooth, fast and tough as nails... The chassis and design is great and with the MM combo it is unbeatable.

Losi 8IGHT-E 2.0 1/8 4WD Buggy Race Roller
1) Chassis is good, can't see anything wrong with it nor do I see anything special.
2) The ESC and motor started cogging the minute I switched it on.
3) Motor braking is not that good.
4) The car needs some shims on the wheel hexs.
5) Also the steering needs some shims.

Overall, I would say its a $350 chassis (without the ESC and Motor), thus Team Losi would do better if they sell it without the ESC and motor.

Losi 8IGHT-E 2.0 1/8 4WD Buggy Race Roller
Car came assembled (roller). Car was assembled correctly however a few of the screws which go into plastic were stripped. (front bulkhead, center diff mount, and left hand bellcrank). The shocks pistons also had flashing as if someone just through it together. I noticed all of this when putting the thunder valley setup on hte car. No biggie IMO...

This was not nearly as big a disappointment as the ESC (which stopped working on the first race day). The 2100kV motor in which is included is a bit much on my local tracks but could be tuned down. The ESC is being reported as having issues.

Once I get the brushless system back from repair I can comment on car's handling characteristics.

Losi 8IGHT-E 2.0 1/8 4WD Buggy Race Roller
Losi is smoking something.... almost $800 for the roller... I own both 8ight truggy and a buggy but looks like I'll be looking elsewhere for my next toys... Hot Bodies proves it's not all about the $$$$ and the so called innovative ground breaking technology... come on Losi... spend less $$ on advertising and pass the savings to the consumers...

Losi 8IGHT-E 2.0 1/8 4WD Buggy Race Roller
Paul, The brusless system in this buggy is even more expensive than the one you are talking about. I know that price sometimes does not indicate quality, but I was looking forward to a turn key operation. Thanks -//- Paul, any improvements to the brushless and ESC components on 2.0 version. Are these components going to break down quickly?

Losi 8IGHT-E 2.0 1/8 4WD Buggy Race Roller
The motor and ESC look identical to the ones on the 1.0 version. So I would assume they didn’t improve anything but it’s hard to tell from a picture.

I would go with a Castle setup if you want to go brushless, they just make superior stuff. -//- I have the 1.0 version of this; the buggy is awesome however the ESC and Motor turned out to be garbage. I now run a Castle combo "2200KV" motor and it’s a sweet combo.

I believe Hobbywing makes the ESC & Motor and they are just not up to par with the Castle stuff. If you buy this I would recommend you sell the ESC/Motor and put the money towards a Castle combo.
