Kyosho DBX VE Ready Set 1/10th 4WD Electric Off Road Buggy
Except for the fact I cant run 3s Lipo without changing the ESC, I love this car. It is a quality built product and I am very satisfied. But, Kyosho needs to upgrade the ESC.

Kyosho DBX VE Ready Set 1/10th 4WD Electric Off Road Buggy
I like the performance of this buggy, but the ESC is undersized @ 70A. I have burned up 2 so far and have only run it on 2S. Don't waste your money on replacing the stock ESC with a direct replacement. I am currently running an aftermarket ESC upsized to 100A. Strong motor and pretty durable otherwise.

Kyosho DBX VE Ready Set 1/10th 4WD Electric Off Road Buggy
The part are extremely available in australia, have been abble to replace every part iv'e managed to break. In aus i use Ultimate action toys.com.au, had very little problems finding parts except that the part no#s aren't the same as in the manual, but i found that by looking closely at the photos, i ended up finding the part i wanted. you just have to be smart and know what youre looking for. -//- This buggy is great, it has great oil filled shocks, (which after a month needed oil replacement, because of internal wear), plenty of travel, a strong platform, a strong understressed motor, great mechanical efficiency, but a really weak esc, well, until you need to change wheels and tires for better ones. (the esc was fine with the stock wheels and tires, when i put low profile Proline tires with rims to suit on it, the esc overheated and the power board died, the BAC still worked but. upgraded to a traxxas Esc with a higher load rating to accomodate the higher traction and higher load needs, to get it to work great.)
Out of the box the buggy is crazy, running a Lipo 5300mhA 2C battery, excellent acceleration, good turning capabilities, it doesn't like hitting things though, be prepared to buy new lower suspension arms and knuckles, as these will take the brunt of most collisions! the ball joints always need adjusting from race to race, tey tend to loosen after a run. When running in dirt races the bearings will get clogged and seize, especially the rear, i've had to remove and clean mine every race. a sealed bearing set up would be benificial. The buggy does keep up with it's nitro competitors though, just keep up the cleaning!! The standard tires are very grippy compared to most, but it's top speed isn't too great when compared to a Traxxas E revo! but it will get off quicker than any other Electric buggy's iv'e raced. A good buggy for a good price, just get plenty of spares once you know what your'e breaking!

Kyosho DBX VE Ready Set 1/10th 4WD Electric Off Road Buggy
This was a total impulse buy, and I am glad I did. I will admit the wood screws and cheap looking plastic had me worried but so far nothing has broke and the buggy totally rips. Only complaint I really have is that the shocks are too short and don’t work very well.

Kyosho DBX VE Ready Set 1/10th 4WD Electric Off Road Buggy
I figured id write a review seeing as though there arent many out there for this buggy.

I personally am new to rc racing and this is my 2nd car. My first purchase was a Traxxas rustler vxl. The differences I have noticed are that first of all i think this buggy is very well made and the quality of the buggy is excellent. I think the design of the car is awesome too. So far I have found some pros and cons. Some pros are that the pion and spur gear are both metal or steel which in some others they are plastic. So you would need to worry about shredding the gears. Also I really like the 4wd and the whole layout of the car itself. The parts like the A Arms are all inner changeable and can be used on either front or back and either side. Also the car handles really well and the big bore shocks are great for quick adjustments for different terrain. For cons Im not crazy about the battery hold down. Having to screw and unscrew every time you want to change a battery can get annoying. I definitely dont like that the gears are exposed both inside the car and even underneath the chassis. And the main problem i have been having with the car is it bogs out pretty bad if your not giving it more than 1/4 throttle and the throttle response time is bad. Sometimes when i hit the trigger it wont move for about 2 seconds. Im going to have to mess with it and see what i can do. The turning radius on this buggy is pretty wide as well. It takes almost double the amount of space as my rustler while turning.

Overall I definitely recommended this car for either bashing or racing. Its a steal at $270.
