Losi ReadyLift XXX-SCB 1/10 Scale RTR Electric Short Course Buggy
Let me get one thing out of the way first. The shortcomings:
-The stock ball-end cups that are on the steering turnbuckles, are garbage. They pop off like no tomorrow even stock with a brushed 15T motor, much more of an issue on brushless.
-The motor. Yes, it's fairly peppy for a brushed motor (while running a 2s LiPo), but it burns out VERY quickly. You'll get maybe 5 or 6 track runs with it (full or near-full packs) before it'll go up in smoke on you. If you're looking to keep it brushed, grab a traxxas Titan motor. It'll keep you in a stock class, and it's not gonna burn out.
-This *should be* brushless, or offered as such. The stock motor will leave you wanting much, MUCH more out of this thing.
-Rear end heavy. REALLY rear-end heavy with a brushless setup.
The goods!
-This thing is VERY well-behaved. The stock shocks, are great in my opinion. They're a bit dated (with clamp-style pre-loading, no clips or knurled collar to turn down), but classics are just fine. They hardly leak at all (5 months of abuse and racing and I've got only an extremely minute amount of gunk right under the lower retainer screw), and the spring rate is matched fairly well to the stock 35wgt oil. A little soft, but it's all good for it.
-Flies VERY well through the air. Handles extreme amount of air with ease. Flies nose-high naturally because of all the weight being rear-end biased. Just tack a little lead weight underneath the front bumper, and problem solved. This will also give the truck some needed over-steer for tight tracks.
-Durable. I have smacked it into curbs at 43mph. I have flipped it end over end off of 15 foot jumps. I have over-shot massive jumps and flat-out cased landings. The only things I've broken? The connection for the motor guards rear screw holes, the top corner of the roll cage, 1 hub carrier, and (finally) cracked the front bumper. Bear in mind, this was ALL on brushless, and from poor driving from learning. The hub carrier breaking was a freak accident. I came down at a wierd angle, got rammed into a wall, bumped off directly on the rear left wheel, and snapped it right in half. That'll happen.
Bottom line:
Should I get this buggy over the XXX-SCT or a Traxxas Slash?
Yes and no.
Yes, if you don't mind immediately dropping the stock motor out in favor of a more reliable one, or going brush less (cheap now days).
No if you don't want to do some very basic work. Bear in mind, however, that minimal amount of work (taking out a motor and slapping a new one in) will reward you with a vehicle that far-out performs your runner up choice. It's also A LOT more durable (stock steering ball-cups excluded, those DO suck) in every way.

this is an awesome car. it handles pretty well for tock and a brushed motor. the servo is also pretty fast for stock it is by far faster than the associated stock. i highley reccommend this car.

Losi ReadyLift XXX-SCB 1/10 Scale RTR Electric Short Course Buggy
I love my SCB, its pure fun to drive. I didnt try it with the standard motor & ESC because I fitted a brushless Tekin 10.5 combo in it the day it arrived. It is back end heavy & so far only 1 real problem....leaking shocks(my local track is very rough & dusty), other than that, Im very pleased with it.
