Losi 8IGHT-E 2.0 1/8 4WD Buggy Race Roller w/o Electrics
Amazing buggy! Very high quality and very durable. This thing is a tank. Never broke any parts on it. Only problems I had was with hardware coming loose, but that can happen with any car. It corners very well, is stable in rough sections, jumps well and has pretty good straight line speed. When compared with the RC8Be, this thing blows it away, in my humble opinion. It's easier to drive, more durable, and much more forgiving. It's got all the chassis adjustments you could ever ask for. As with all cars, it does have a few "issues" to consider. The front/center drive shaft sits at a very sharp angle. This causes it to wear out quicker than the other parts of the drive train, so you have to keep an eye on it. The battery tray sits very high, so a tall heavy 4S can adversely affect handling. Keep an eye on the ride height as it seems to come out of adjustment at times. Center diff will leak on you if you don't build it just right. Those are just minor issues and every car has some. On the positives though, you get one of the best motor mounts available. The Associated and Hot Bodies mounts are garbage. The shocks are about the best I have ever used. Very strong shock towers, arms and hubs. Unlike a lot of other buggies, no major hop ups are needed. It's a great racer right out of the box. Though, the inclined spindles and 10 deg. carriers are highly recommended. Rear aluminum hubs will be more durable, but I've never broken a plastic one. The only other hop you might consider is switching to the Tekno race chassis. Since the 8ight is just a converted gas buggy, switching to an e-designed chassis will make this great buggy even better.

Losi 8IGHT-E 2.0 1/8 4WD Buggy Race Roller w/o Electrics
A few prob areas like low runtime, leaky center diff, motor mount loosening, too light, diff unloading. Great areas: durable, flexible plastics (almost like RPM), cheap parts on ebay and barn floor rc, most parts interchangeable with 1.0, some parts interchangeable with turmoil/mayhem, very precise, very tuneable. I had to get an rcmonster motor mount because I could not cure my chassis motor mount screws loosening prob. I think it chewed up batteries fast because of all the wheel spin due to constant diff unloading. I treid toning my 2200 monster motor down via esc too. Pinion gears w/a metal spur will eat themselves in dusty conditions, yet the plastic ones wear fast for me.

I thought this was the best until I tried the Vorza (didnt like associated features, and screws fell out all the time). The vorza is heavier, BUT very little wheel spin, no motor mount issues out of the box, no leaks, grips the ground better, easier to drive, longer runtimes, good distribution, much much cheaper (RTR vs. Losi's ARTR+electronics), fans can be mounted to the motor mount, body fits better, just as durable, parts are cheaper. Driving the losi feels like a 1/10 scale compared to the Vorza thats the best way to explain it.

I wonder if Sportwerks 1/8 were the precursor to the 8ight (also part of the horizon family). I believe Sportwerks were the first 1/8s to come with spektrum (losi followed, sportwerks was disontinued, some engine .26/drivetrain/radio/etc parts were carried over to the 8ight).

Losi 8IGHT-E 2.0 1/8 4WD Buggy Race Roller w/o Electrics
This car is amazing. Talk about durability. Great first 1/8 scale car. Fast, handles, and takes a beating like a champ. Jumps as straight as you drive it, corners very well. Center diff came out the box leaking though. Get that fixed losi. Running 2050kv tekin redline and rx8. Thunder power 65c 4s. This thing rips butthole. 10 stars.
