The Inferno VE comes equipped with a Team Orion Vortex 8 race spec ESC and motor combo front universals, 17mm wheel hubs, steel center spur-gear and much much more.

Transmission - The Inferno VE transmission is the same as the nitro version which comes equipped with a steel center spur gear that makes stripping a gear a thing of the pass. The Center diff also contains a full set of diff gears and diff fluid in the proper weight, that translates to a bomb proof transmission.

Rear Suspension - The rear suspension uses the same race proven composit nylon suspension arms as the nitro Inferno 7.5 differential ring and pinion gears are made from a heavy duty steel with a spiral cut which makes the gear much more compact and stronger than a standard cut gears. The shock bodies are full aluminum construction with quick adjustment clips for quick on the fly preload adjustments. The rear shock tower is made from a full aluminum construction with multiple shock mounting points, and the whole rear end is stiffened up with a rear molded chassis brace.

Front Suspension - Symmetrical suspension arms connect to the front bulk head which come together for a rigid assembly. Housed in the front bulkhead are heavy duty steel gears with a spiral cut to them for added strength. The front diff also contains a full set of diff gears and the proper weight differential fluid, for better added cornering and overall handling. The front uses two universal driveshafts instead of dogbones, in combination with full set of bearings throughout the drive train. This gives you a World Championship drive train from a readyset. You can also fine tune for the optimal camber setting with adjustable turnbuckles. The front shock bodies are full aluminum construction with quick adjustment clips for quick, on the fly pre-load adjustments.

Team Orion Vortex 8 - The Vortex 8 brushless motor and ESC combo is what powers the Inferno VE. The Team Orion Vortex 8 race spec ESC is equipped with a cooling fan system that will always be on to completely prevent any pebbles from jaming the fan. Compared to the current RTR ESC's which the fan will only turn on when the FET temperature rises and cant engage due to a small pebble jamming it, causing overheating. Heat protection safe circuit, when this feature is activated (automatically) the throttle fuction will shut down preventing any possible disaster. Auto Cut Off is another features on the Vortex 8 ESC, incase of a overload, the ESC will automatically cut off to protect the entire system. Auto battery detection, on/off switch is separate from the ESC so its totally replaceable in the need arises and also a dust switch cover as standard equipment.

Kyosho Inferno VE 4WD Brushless Electric 1/8 Off Road Buggy (RTR)
Well,

Unlike Robert who gives 3 different 1 star ratings and never even bothered to look at and or try one , I have one. For the price it can't be beat, looked at Losi, OFNA and Hpi but for less than half of the Losi and 2/3 of the Hpi its a bargain. A few more hex screws, big bore shocks and a couple other small additions I'm still way ahead. Nothing wrong with a tried and true design at this price , the Orion system is pretty solid and a bargain . IMO this is a best buy car and parts are readily available.

Also uprgraded to Ko Propo Helios Ex10, nothing wrong with radio supplied but this gives me way more options.

I gave the car a 4/5 overall and a solid 5/5 for value compared to the competition.

Kyosho Inferno VE 4WD Brushless Electric 1/8 Off Road Buggy (RTR)
THE HPI VORZA FLUX HP IS BETTER IN MY OPINION, PUT A DESCENT RADIO AND A STEERING SERVO WHICH I HAVE DONE AND THIS BABY ROCKSW. I HAVE 2 FRIENDS WITH THIS 1 THE DEB AND 1 WITH THE D8 CONVERSION TO ELECTRIC. I DIDNT WANT TO DO ANY CONVERSION SO I BOUGHT THE VORZA, THIS THING WILL RUN AWAY FROM EVERYONE ELSE ON EVERY PART OF THE TRACK. EXCEPT WHERE I CANT DRIVE AT LOL. WE DO SPEED RUNS ON 4S THE VORZA WINS EASILY WE DO 6S SPEED RUNS THE VORZA HAS A HUGE ADVANTAGE THERE. IN THE WHOOPS THE VORZA COMES WITH BIG BORES ON IT AND THEY ARE WICKED IM NOT THE BEST IN THAT AREA BUT MY BUGGY IS SO FORGIVING IT MAKES ME LOOK LIKE IM DRIVING IT. I LOVE THIS BUGGY I DONT THINK I WANT ANU OTHER. IVE DRIVEN ALL OF MY FRIENDS AND THEY HAVE DRIVEN MINE. TWO OF THEM HAVE THE VORZA ON ORDER NOW. ONLY COMPLAINT IS THE RADIO AND STEERING SERVO. UPDATE THEM BEFORE YOU RUN IT AND YOU CANT SAY ONE BAD WORD.. ITS AWESOME..ENUFF SAID

Kyosho Inferno VE 4WD Brushless Electric 1/8 Off Road Buggy (RTR)
Disappointed that the bevel gears only had one set instead of two cross gears. I put the wc shock towers, big bores, sway bars and added the second set of bevel gears. Servo was updated as well.
Good buggy for the price. That cant be beat.

Kyosho Inferno VE 4WD Brushless Electric 1/8 Off Road Buggy (RTR)
Glad your happy James, hope you enjoy yourself .Old saying applys here Something is better than nothing. To clear things up i never really said its not worth buying its just outdated Trust me i know outdated, having 3, with 2 running DTX Razes i have spent hundreds of dollars to get them up to modern RTR specs yes i said RTR specs Because they will never be race cars no matter how much money i spend I have been in this hobby for over 20 years and have seen a lot of junk thru the years The trouble is along with improved products there is a a lot of stuff that just looks good but is no improvement My gold pan RC10 is one of the best rc cars i ever have had but if i stuck a brushless system in it,it wouldn't last out the day. My fear for this hobby is that the companys will soon price themselves right out of bussiness the cost will make it lose its fun factor Yes new technology costs money but using junk materials to build modern designs is like building a house out of a paper bag first wind and it blows away -//- Parrot :Yes its based on a tested and seasoned platform and will preform semi well for a outdated design. The key word outdated.I also raced a Kyosho Ultima during the late 80"and early 90"and did very well Kyosho is a cutting edge company and as far as brushless 1/8 The cutting edge of this car appears to be about 10 years ago The design is not suited for brushless I forsee longevity [durabilty] problems It's a throw away car drive it to learn how brushless works, then put the electronics in a better car Thats only if they [Kyosho]didn't cheap out on the brushless system By the way the Ofna hyper9 is a great car to bad about the leaky diffs from the factory [design flaw] otherwise it's a great indoor racetrack car Enough Said Thank you PEACE OUT!! -//- Isn't kyosho made in japan It sure looks like a made in China [Smartech] ie:Duratrax Raze or Ofna[Hobao] Hyper 7 Made the same only the name is different.Kyosho has made some of the best cars i ever owned I only hope they don't start selling china made crap with the kyosho name Isn't bad enough that AE [associated] was bought out years ago

Kyosho Inferno VE 4WD Brushless Electric 1/8 Off Road Buggy (RTR)
Maybe someone can actually step up and buy this kit. Who wants to be the Guinea pig? I guess NO one. -//- Based on the reviews and what people are saying. I have decided not to get this kit. I think if I want to get into 1/8 Electric buggies I have better choices out there than this. The radio is going to be crap - given fact no matter what people say, I have owned enough Kyosho RTR radios to say this (last one was for the 1/10 Lazer ZX-5, total crap).

The lack of big Bore shocks for this type of scale buggy really puts me off as well.... overall I think this is a drivable car and you can probably upgrade it but I'd rather put together a buggy than needing to replace existing useless parts. Waste of money and time. -//- I never own an 1/8 electric buggy but I want to get one.... So does it mean from previous comment that I should NOT get this buggy? The main concern is will this buggy go fast? It doesn't look fast on the youtube video they have up right now. Will I have to upgrade a whole bunch of things with this buggy? I'm looking for something that is fast enough and I don't have to upgrade too much stuff. Like an E-Revo Brushless Edition Truck 5608.

I ain't expert and I don't know what's the deal with the "Z-Bend" that people kept talking about in forums about this buggy. But one thing for sure the radio that comes with this (along with a lot of other Kyosho buggies/trucks), is not good / sucks.

I guess this is not a good buy then. I'm taking my $600 USD (including lipos and part costs) and invest somewhere else.

Kyosho Inferno VE 4WD Brushless Electric 1/8 Off Road Buggy (RTR)
Has anyone actually run / raced this kit? Or, are you all jsut bashing cause it is an old design? I'm interested in it, because it is the most complete kit available for under $500.. I wish it was based on MP9, but we can't have everything..

All in all I would like to see a legitimate review, and real world running in race conditions..

Kyosho Inferno VE 4WD Brushless Electric 1/8 Off Road Buggy (RTR)
I owned and raced 2 Kyosho 1/10th Scale Buggies. In '85 a 2WD Ultima and in '87 4WD Optima Mid SP. I raced them while I was overseas until '89. They were great platforms, and won a lot of races with them both, so I have very fond memories with these platforms. The quality was top notch. I have recently gotten back into Off-Road with an OFNA HoBao Hyper 9e, and it is a great kit. I have to agree that instead of using a z-wire for the steering is a bit to retro for today's standards. Adding a modern steering link would have not added much to the price of this unit. One more thing I noticed is all of the screws that I see are Phillips heads. So adding Hex heads would have been a better choice as well. Otherwise this kit is based on a winning platform. As far as I can see the kit is a good value as is, and most of us will have a better radio, but for those that don't will have something to start out with. With some minor upgrades this is a very viable choice for someone just starting out without breaking the bank. I will be purchasing two of these kits for my Nephews as Christmas presents this year. Thank you and have a blessed day.

Kyosho Inferno VE 4WD Brushless Electric 1/8 Off Road Buggy (RTR)
Ok you ask for a ture reveiw here it is. I raced this car all last year at my local track every weekend and in 20 weekends was first twice second 16 times and third twice. We have about 25 racers. The raido and servo has to go it was not intended for racing it was to keep cost down. The diffs only have a half set of gears to keep cost down so you have to buy two full sets of diff gears to complete the diffs. That cost about $22.00 The car needs sway bars front and back another $22.00. The motor will not handle hard racing it will lock the bearings down in just a few heats. I replaced it with a Castle 2650 ($160.00) and ran a Venom 8000mah 7.4 2 cell lipo. I am useing the orion speed control that came with the car but had to buy the control box ($30.00) to do the adjustment. The control is set for medium speed from the factory and it needs to be set for full speed to run a 2 cell. This control is good but it only shutters when it hits cut off. If you keep driving it it will damage your batterys. Just a word of warrning. I replaced the turbo shocks with the larger Ifw140 fronts and 141 rears. I got them off e bay for about 45.00 for both sets new. I also replaced the steel 48 tooth spur with a 44 tooth IF 147 and stopped eating spur and pinon gears. I used 1 spur and one 16 tooth pinon all year. This design car has won more national and World titles than any other car desgin. After you do all this you will have a true kyosho 7.5. This car will be on ebay soon. I feel you can spend your money better with a Mugen MB6 eco

Kyosho Inferno VE 4WD Brushless Electric 1/8 Off Road Buggy (RTR)
Okay,

Have to update my last review of this kit. At first I thought at least the motor and ESC made it worth it but on the third run the motor seized! At least Kyosho did replace it for free but the list of things that need to be upgraded on it in order to actually run it and not break on every jump landing, every bump, every time you sneeze around it, have grown so long that I'm about to junk it. In other words I would feel bad selling it (or even giving it) to anyone I didn't really hate. Since I've owned it, I've dumped enough $ into it to have bought any of the higher end kits w/much nicer electronics to boot, (except for maybe the MP9E of course) that come with all of the upgraded pieces this thing so badly needs. In theory, it was really cool, I don't mind trading a bit of durability or performance to get a chance to play in 8th scale for $400, but in reality if you're going to actually run on 8th scale tracks you are better off saving your money, getting something else, or simply running a 10th scale car as my B4, B44, SC-10, and Slash 4x4 have all proven much more durable. Yes, even my B4 survives crashes off the same jumps this thing breaks a hinge pin and bends a shock tower on a perfect down side landing. If you do buy it, I would at least completely disassemble and re-assemble it actually using loctite and replacing the shocks and hinge pins in the process as the stock ones aren't even worth running, the assembly was a joke even for a RTR, (the wheel nuts weren't even tight!) Sorry to be hating, but I can't begin to describe the frustration and disappointment I hope no one else has to go through with this kit. Perhaps I just got a lemon but, but what a lemon it is. -//- Just got this kit yesterday and took it to the track. Overall for the $ it can't be beat! Plenty of speed, handles great, great value. IMO it does come under dampend and a tad under sprung for real off road track use, and going with a little thicker shock oil made a magical diff. BUT... The shocks still are simply not enough, don't even bother using them, mine didn't even last two (no big crashes) packs but there are some good sized 1/8th scale jumps. One bent, and one broke a shaft, keeping in mind neither my SC10 or B4 have done that on the same track. Also check the screws and nuts before you run it, one of my wheels fell off due to a wheel nut that wasn't tight, (good practice anyway for any rtr I guess). Also, I had to re-tape the ESC as it came ready to fall out!

All that aside, a set of real 8th scale shocks and this thing is ready to rock for those like me who've always wanted to play in the 8th scale world but couldn't swing it financially.
