This is the Team Associated Rival RTR 1/8 Scale Brushless 4WD Monster Truck. The Rival is part of Team Associated's Qualifier Series and comes ready to crush the competition including many high-performance items - the XP2G 2.4GHz radio system, a Reedy brushless power system, and two 7-cell 8.4 volt Reedy WolfPack NiMH batteries wired with Deans Ultra Plug Connectors.

The Rival Monster Truck features a super long travel independent suspension that is managed by eight fluid-filled, adjustable coil-over shocks, giving the Rival the ability to roll over just about anything in its path. Giant aggressive monster truck tires provide maximum traction, letting the Rival claw through the toughest terrain with ease. The 4WD drivetrain includes three sealed gear differentials that transfer the power with tough steel CVA drive shafts to both ends of the truck.

The included 7-cell/8.4V Reedy Wolfpack batteries are assembled using Reedy's high-tech NiMH sub-C SC-R cells that provide extended run times and maximum output thanks to its ultra-low internal resistance. To further minimize power-robbing resistance and heat, welded connections between each cell and thick 14AWG silicone power wires combined with an industry-standard High Power Connector to ensure maximum performance and reliability.

Features:

  • XP SC1300-DB brushless electronic speed control with dual Deans Ultra Plug: features independent battery voltage sensing for optimum battery performance (two 2S, 7.4V LiPo maximum; sold separately)
  • Reedy 1515-SL 2000kV brushless motor

Team Associated Rival RTR 1/8 Brushless Monster Truck
Don't Expect this guy to hang with Traxxas Monsters if power system is left stock. Nice touch that it uses 2 batteries from the 10th scale cars. Only supports 4s though. Use RPM arms and axle carriers for indestructibility! AE needs to make a kit version so some one can do the power system right the first time. This is my car of choice for my 4 year old in a big open field. Tx is super durable w/no antenna to break. Jumps like a pro! don't let off or brake in the air it stops fast and will flip. This truck catches every ones eye but fails to perform the extreme power you expect to see in a monster truck. If you don't like short runs due to heat, buy the 13 tooth pinion gear (part# listed on Team associated web site, 8th scale buggy gears don't fit.) Get extra hood pins and proline locking 17mm wheel nuts (these will be worth it). Stiffer springs(Gold) for jumping, Stock blue or softer works great for more on road and turning capability. It doesn't hang with mamba system on the straight away but it definitely handles much better if correctly set up.
