Traxxas Summit Electric 4WD Monster Truck RTR (w/TQi 2.4GHz Radio, EVX2 ESC & Ba
I just got my Summit about a week ago. I ordered it from A Main Hobbies. Great price! Anyway, when I recieved the truck I charged up the batts and took it out to the street. Went to switch the truck from high to low gear and nothing, the truck wouldn't switch out of low gear. I noticed it was the servo. (didn't work) Called Traxxas explained to them the problem, they sent me out a new servo.(FREE) Got it two days later, put in the new servo and now the truck runs as it should. I've always heard that Traxxas has great customer service and I couldn't agree more! This is a great truck! I've always been into speed but I must say that watching the Summit crawl is just as much fun!

Traxxas Summit Electric 4WD Monster Truck RTR (w/TQi 2.4GHz Radio, EVX2 ESC & Ba
Ordered my new Summit on Monday and was poppin' wheelies with it and crawling over boulders on Thursday. Man this truck has power and it is tough. I am very pleased with the performance of this thing, and plan to hang on to it for a long, long time. LiPo cutoff was a long overdue and much needed improvement for the EVX-2 ESC and the new transmitter is great. I was planning on installing the Tekin RX-8 sensored brushless setup, but surprisingly enough, the stock 775 motor has tons of power on 2x2s LiPo packs, so I will keep the stock electronics for a while. Amain, your service is impeccable. Fast and cheaper than anywhere else. Thank You!

Traxxas Summit Electric 4WD Monster Truck RTR (w/TQi 2.4GHz Radio, EVX2 ESC & Ba
I own 14 Traxxas models and I bought my Summit in March of 2011, This truck is a blast to drive!! You can do so much with it from bashing to climbing. I did change the wheels and tires on it to some Proline 3.8 Trenchers and TMX wheel. It made it handle in my opinion really great. I run 5000mAH LiPo's 2's in it with a LVA on each battery so I do not drain my batteries. This really increases my run time to about 30 to 40 minutes. All I can say if you have the money it's well worth the investment and a heck of lot of fun!!!

Traxxas Summit Electric 4WD Monster Truck RTR (w/TQi 2.4GHz Radio, EVX2 ESC & Ba
I bought this truck about a year a half ago, and have been bashing it hard ever since. Absolutely zero breakage to date, this is one tough truck. Another great one from the folks at Traxxas.

Traxxas Summit Electric 4WD Monster Truck RTR (w/TQi 2.4GHz Radio, EVX2 ESC & Ba
Converted mine to BL as soon as I got it! Running 2x 4s packs in parallel with a Tekin motor and Mamba Monster ESC. Run times are absurdly long “well over 30mins” plus the lipos weigh less than the original NiMh packs. So far the truck has handled the power of the BL motor with ease and is a climbing beast. Even though I am running a sensorless ESC I don’t have any low speed cogging issues, even with diffs locked and climbing. Truck gets a 5 out of 5 from me.

Traxxas Summit Electric 4WD Monster Truck RTR (w/TQi 2.4GHz Radio, EVX2 ESC & Ba
I purchased a Traxxas Summit approx. 1& 1/2 years ago. To this date I have had 0 problems with this exceptional piece of ingenuity. So perfect in all aspects of 'trail blazin'. I own an array of remote controlled objects. From: Trucks to cars, to buggies, to planes, to helis, from X-mods to 1/8 scale. The Summit is all that I really need to own. This is one fantastic machine. More power to the Traxxas Team !!! Do wish someone would develop different body choices. Also a tubelar body such as H.P.I.'s 1/5 scale buggy. That would be wild.

Traxxas Summit Electric 4WD Monster Truck RTR (w/TQi 2.4GHz Radio, EVX2 ESC & Ba
14 out of 14 reviews all positive Traxxas did something right with this truck... can't find anything wrong with mine... just love it...nothing even comes close to it...built way good, the only thing I would do, is put alloy skid plates on, and run 2S... runs good with whatever tire you want to put on it... just hard to beet this unit.. for the money...yes it is a tenth scale monster truck... even though it has 8th scale components built tough go anywhere unit, in style...recommended to anyone who wants to crawl as well as bash around where ever you want to.

A great balance between basher and climber. Decent speed and very durable.
To those who are still considering this MT...let me put it this way. You either own a Summit or you don't.

Traxxas Summit Electric 4WD Monster Truck RTR (w/TQi 2.4GHz Radio, EVX2 ESC & Ba
I love my summit. It's got tons of power and is still decently fast. The waterproof electronics are great and the suspension handles everything well. It's fun to jump, crawl, and tear up offroad terrain. It is also pretty darn tough too. I have jumped and bashed mine pretty hard and it keeps coming back for more. Love the summit. Just make sure to get all the servos adjusted right and they will last for a long time.

Traxxas Summit Electric 4WD Monster Truck RTR (w/TQi 2.4GHz Radio, EVX2 ESC & Ba
Just an awesome all-around truck. If I could have just one RC, I think this would be it. I don't do rock crawling really, but I love the exo-skeleton, LED light set, sticky tires, and plush, long-travel suspension. The light set actually makes it realistic to be able to run this at night.

The Hi-Lo shift servo stripped when I tried to loosen the allen screw holding the horn on. But Traxxas already has another one on the way to me. If it strips again, I'll bite the bullet and buy a decent servo.

Out of the box, the rear suspension is too soft. Plan on dialing in a lot of preload, or replacing the stock double-yellow-dot shock springs in the back with double-orange instead. Then, not so much preload will be needed to keep it from squatting all the time.

The cantelevers for the suspension run on ball bearings.

The battery trays are a pretty good design. They could make it a BIT easier to get to them, so the truck body wouldn't have to come off to change batts.

The TQi transmitter that comes with this truck is great. I like the ability to adjust the trigger travel to 70/30, so that more precision is gained in the forward direction. I've ALWAYS liked that about Traxxas transmitters. It takes only 4AAs. (finally) It's nice and light, and is shaped well to fit the hand. Too bad the programming is so cumbersome, with only two buttons and one bi-color LED... After trying for an hour, I could NOT set the reverse end point to 50%, when I had the trigger set to 70/30. Very irritating. I wish they'd just raise the price by $10 and include a proper display. If so, I'd get rid of my Futaba radio.

The truck comes with a full set of good quality tools. For example, the aluminum turnbuckle wrench is blue anodized, and well polished. The Summit uses special big lug nuts, and it has a custom T-handle lug wrenc that is included. Two of the three included allen keys are also T-handles, but the one short end can also be used for breaking loose tough screws.

A full instruction manual is not included, and this really sucks. They make us go online and download it. The cheater card no longer is included with the Tx, and it is really needed to program this radio on the fly, unless you have the iPod dock option.

I took this bashing in the snow last week, and it does really well in up to about 3" of loose snow. After that, it's so heavy, it digs itself in. The suspension arms and turnbuckles are big and thick.

The truck is not fast, 21 mph on the stock 7c packs. Bu it doesn't FEEL slow, unless you drive it right after something that is a lot faster. Acclerate too hard, and it squats. Brake hard and it dives forward. Corner hard and it leans way over. With suspension this soft, so it can crawl, it cannot really be run high speed.

There's no need to run out right away and upgrade to 2s LiPos, but they do help acceleration. Top speed is the same as on 7c NiMH. The included brushed motor is pretty nice quality. Take some time to break it in properly by taking it out of the gearbox and running it on low voltage for a while, to form the brushes to the commutator. It is fan cooled, and the truck makes a nice turbine sound as it cruises around. (unless you over-tighten the diff, then it just whines around ) The Titan 775 motor feels perfectly adequate. But when mine burns out, I may try an aftermarket motor; I hear the DeWalt 820 drill motor fits this. I won't go brushless unless I can find a complete waterproof one. (as opposed to the Castle Mamba system that comes with the E-Revo Brushless Edition)

The Summit doesn't jump that well, it seems to want to stay nose-up. I found it odd that no battery chargers were included. I expected at least a couple of the new, automatic 7c wall wart chargers. They're humble and slow, but they work well. Plan on another $50 for a charger on top of the purchase price of the truck.

I'm glad I bought this, despite the cheap gear shift servo. I'd buy it again in a second.
