This is the HPI E-Savage Sport with truck body. The popular 1/10 scale E-Savage is now available in a Sport version. The E-Savage Sport has all of the features in the standard E-Savage, but we've deleted the battery packs and charger to reduce the cost of the truck for RC enthusiasts who already have their own packs and charger.

The E-Savage is built with the same durability as its nitro Savage brother, with two shocks at each corner and long suspension arms providing the bump-soaking action. Full-time AWD powered by sliding driveshafts enable this machine to power over any obstacle! Low-mounted dual batteries provide a low center of gravity keeping the E-Savage stuck to the ground! The chassis layout ensures that it is simple to maintain, making upkeep easy, painless and FUN!

Twin Motors & Twin Batteries
Two high-power 550-size motors developed exclusively for E-Savage are included. Each motor has a cooling fan inside so the motors run cool and generate high power.

All new speed control
The E-Savage comes with an exclusively designed speed control to control high power from twin motors and twin batteries. The FASF (Fully Automatic Setup Function) automatically sets up the throttle, brakes, reverse and fail-safe device to automatically protect it in case of overload.

Complete set of ball bearings
Twenty two ball bearings are used in the drive train to help transmit the power of twin motors and twin batteries to the tires efficiently.

Low-profile tires
Big 5.4 inch diameter tires easily climb over fist-sized rocks. The block pattern of the tread ensures stable grip on straightaways and corners. The low-profile design helps make the truck look stylish.
Tires: 5.4 inches in diameter / 2.8 inches wide
Wheels: 3.5 inches in diameter / 2.2 inches wide (Compatible with SAVAGE)

Symmetrical AWD layout
The E-Savage has a unique symmetrical powertrain layout with twin motors located around the center and twin batteries on the left and right sides of the chassis. This layout creates excellent chassis balance to provide outstanding drivability on rough terrain and high speed stability.

Completely Ready to Run!
The E-Savage RTR contains everything you need to run at the track. A completed chassis, radio set and printed and trimmed body are all included in the E-Savage RTR kit.

HPI E-Savage Sport w/Truck Body
I've had this about a month now, and it has been a GREAT truck. I used to run a Tamiya Falcon in the 1980s. I wanted a Boomerang, but couldn't afford 4WD back then. I got back into RC last year with a Traxxas Stampede XL-5. Also a great truck, but it doesn't hold a candle to this one on loose surfaces. I've been blasting around in the snow, on loose gravel, in grass, you name it. Grass up to 4" high hardly slows it down and steering is still good. With the Stampede, I lose 50% of the speed, and steering also loses at least 50%. On loose surfaces, instead of having the rear end always trying to come around, the E-Savage just starts to drift and understeer. If I let off the throttle, then it oversteers. It is 200% more controllable on loose surfaces. I started running this with my Trinity Reference 6 cell, 3600 mAh packs that I got here. It is a bit faster than the XL-5 Stampede, and it runs about 15-18 minutes on a pair of those. I bought some 5 Ah, 2S, 20C LiPos for it and the power difference is amazing. It feels about 30% faster, and the power delivery is more instant. It also feels like 100% power all the way until the cutoff. Runtimes are also up about 5 minutes per pack. Too bad these packs are so expensive in the US. The prices are coming down to the point where a good basic LiPo is about the same as a good high capacity NiMH pack. For kids, definitely stick with the NiMH packs, or they might burn your house down in a moment of carelessness. The suspension on the truck initially seems very soft. I think it could use one grade stiffer springs for all-around use. When I set it down, it sags probably 40% of its suspension travel. However, it is simply AMAZING how fast this truck can go over rough terrain; the suspension just soaks it up. If you like to jump, you will definitely need much stiffer springs. I haven't jumped much with the truck yet, but it definitely takes nose- down attitude. Apply throttle to level it, but try not to be on the throttle when you land. This model is famous for breaking drive shafts if the clutch is adjusted too tightly to try and let it wheely easier. Resist the temptation. If you do break the shafts, the Traxxas E-Max shafts are a direct replacement. Overall, this is probably the best basher you can buy for the money. To me, the only one that is even close is Traxxas E-Revo, which costs hundreds more, is bigger (true 1/8 scale) and much heavier. (goes through batteries faster) If you're thinking of getting this or something 2WD like a Stampede, do yourself a favor: stretch a bit and get this. It'll take a bit longer to save up and get a good stock of batteries, and will cost a bit more to go brushless, but you'll be happier in the end.

HPI E-Savage Sport w/Truck Body
I purchased the truck on a Friday and had it the following Thur with regular shipping. The purchase was easy and I received detailed e-mails up until shipping. After that I could track on UPS site.
I am running Pro-tek 4200 6 cells and the power is excellant. I may switch to Deans' plugs just to ensure good power delivery. It slides like mad (drifting) around a softball field. A buddy and I conducted a drag test and I managed to tie a Stampede running a 7 cell with stock gearing. I will need to adjust the slipper clutch to get a little lift from the front. I have not really abused the truck yet as this is my first truck (coming from plane/heli background). Mostly jumping ditches and sliding for yards around gravel and sand. I am very pleased with my purchase. This thing puts a smile on my face everytime I run it. And at $209, it really is an outstanding deal on a 4-wheel drive 1/10 scale truck.
