Losi 1/36 Micro Desert Truck RTR (Grey)
I am a former racer. I have raced everything from the Frog, Traxxas Stampede, Kyosho St., Losi XXX all the way to Losi 8th scale and everything in-between. I love Losi. I love Losi products. With that said, stay away form this vehicle. Especially if you have any type of expectations going into it. What you are looking for is probably the next size up. Go ahead and spend the couple extra dollars.

In the past couple weeks I have purchased 3 micro vehicles. 1 stadium truck for each of my nephews and 1 desert truck to join them. Set up is pretty simple. The charging, even easier! If I were going to bother upgrading the desert truck (from a truck performance stand-point) my first upgrade would be getting rid of these useless tires. Short hard carpet is all the desert truck tires are good for. The stadium truck tires, miniature replicas of the tires that come of the 1/10th scale, hook-up on everything. Batteries only last about 5 minutes (not bad). But the biggest issue is the radio. The radio is pretty awful. Looks good and comes with all necessary functions...but the signal is awful. I was losing connection with my car at like 15yds. Also, the lag is awful. My next upgrade would be a better radio. All in all... all of these issues could be addressed by simply going up to the next model. My nephews (6,7), won't complain much because they simply won't know. But any experienced driver will not be happy with this vehicle.

Don't even thinking about buying the brushless motor that comes with it. Not only will it tear up a vehicle that is not built for the added speed, but purchasing it pretty much requires you to buy all new electronics. It's a Trap!

I hope this review helps! I probably won't learn about the actual durability of the vehicles until after Christmas when my nephews get a hold of them.
