AKA Mounted Crossbrace 1/8 SC Tires (Pro-5)

The Cross Brace is not your traditional looking buggy tire. This is another tire in the AKA line that works well at most tracks. The Cross Brace really stands out in loose to loamy track conditions. With the larger square pins and center bars you can expect this tire to deliver the power to the ground.

Pre-mounted tires on our Pro-5 wheel specifically aimed at the Short Course market. We have chosen the CITYBLOCK and CROSSBRACE as our first release on these wheels. These two tread patterns in the Super Soft compound yielded the best results in a variety of conditions during our testing. These Pro-5 pre-mounts also utilize AKA’s innovative and often imitated ground, closed cell inserts for the ultimate in durability and performance. Combine all this with AKA‘s unmatched assembly quality and you get the best 1:8 Short Course tire and wheel combo on the market. These are a great add-on to sell with our Short Course adapter sets for the Slash and the Associated SC10.

Tread Performance:
Each tire tread is computer designed and track tested by AKA engineers and team drivers to ensure the best performance before each tire goes into production.

Balance:
Like AKA inserts and wheels, tire balance is critical to superior performance and it's a priority in AKA tires. Mold components are manufactured to the highest tolerances to ensure the best possible alignment of all the mold components. This results in a tire with more uniform thickness for the best possible balance.

Lifespan:
The long life of the AKA tires is due to the collective decades of rubber compound development that AKA brings to the table. In fact, AKA engineers have been responsible for developing some of the most successful tires in off-road racing for a generation. Each compound is tested in labs then rigorously track tested to ensure the highest quality.

Mold Accuracy:
AKA tire molds are made in the U.S.A. using the most advance mold-making techniques and processes available. The cost is higher to produce such a precision mold, but its part of an uncompromising desire to deliver the highest quality product available.

Compound:
AKA offers 3 different long-lasting tire compounds, each of which is color-coded by a small mark on the sidewall of each tire. AKA offers soft (green), medium (blue), and hard (yellow) compounds that provide superior grip for across the entire spectrum of track conditions. Re-sealable bag:
AKA was the first to introduce this simple and effective packaging to the r/c car market. Each bag can hold two sets of tires and more importantly can be used over and over. The bag also helps keep them organized and out of the elements which keep the rubber at its best possible condition.

Notes from the team:
The Cross Brace is another tire that is often paired up with I Beams in the rear. This settup is another alternative to City Clock fronts and I Beam rears. Again this settup is used to allow the car to rotate more in the corners and give the car the forward drive out of the corners.
