 This is an optional XRAY Progressive Front Shock Spring Set, and is intended for use with the XRAY RX8 and RX8 2012 Spec. XRAY ultimate-match front shock springs feature a stylish black finish, and the rate has been laser-engraved on the top spring coil for easy identification. These progressive springs are marked 7-9, and provide are soft damping at the beginning of the compression similar to hardness 7, but then they become harder as the spring is compressed more, to 8 hardness in the middle, and 9 hardness at the end. These springs are recommended for medium-high traction surfaces, and provide increased steering at the beginning of the corner, but resist rolling in the middle of the corner because the spring becomes harder as the chassis rolls.
Available as a pair, the springs are individually measured, controlled, inspected and matched to provide identical damping characteristics. During the selection process, each spring is compressed in several fine increments and the values are recorded. Each spring is then matched with another spring of identical characteristics.
