This is an optional RPM Front Bumper & Skid Plate, and is intended for use with the Losi TEN-SCTE. The RPM Front Bumper and Skid Plate adds a level of protection unmatched by any other bumper presently available. The RPM Front Bumper mounts further back along the chassis than the stock bumper, covering the entire front end left exposed by the stock bumper, protecting the aluminum chassis from abrasion damage common to this area. Three skid rails are strategically placed along the front of the skid plate to allow the front end of the truck to transition up and over impacted objects easily and with the least amount of friction possible.
The design of the RPM Front Skid Plate removes the stock bumper support ring from the truck, preventing frontal impacts from transferring impact energy into the front shock tower and top end of the gearbox. This allows much more room for the bumper to absorb impact energy when that inevitable head-on collision occurs. By absorbing the impact, less energy is transferred into the chassis, protecting those more fragile internal components from damage.

We have 2 scte race only trucks with these bumpers and they work great! Rear bumper mounts as well!!!

Looks like some of these reviews are negative because of user error. If you buy a product marketed to fit a certain vehicle, don't get mad at the product when it doesn't fit something else. That is your own moronic mistake. Anyway this bumper has been much sturdier than the stock bumper, which is what I wanted. It probably wouldn't withstand a 50mph head on to a curb, but nothing will. This does what it was advertised to do and as such I am happy. I also ended up trimming the upper "tubes" off to prevent the body from snagging but it's not necessary. Another thing I did that hasn't been mentioned is grind down the ribs on the underside of the skidplate, so that the whole thing is flat. This increases ground clearance by about a millimeter, so that issue is somewhat less of a problem now.

had to grind off the upper bars to get it to stop hanging up behind the body grill. No big deal, didn't like the traxxas look any way. Hangs a little lower but it's much more durable than stock. Retains it's shape unlike the stock bumper that starts to push up on the body after a few tumbles. Would buy again but I doubt I'll need to.

I use this on an indoor track with tight turns and good sized jumps and have no issues or problems. I actually feel the front brace help a bit.

Ran this bumper for about 20 packs so far. Great quality and plastic is very durable. As with all rpm products the instructions are complete garbage and wording is really odd. Very easy to install once you understand how everything goes. Had the same problem as all the other people with this bumper about the body catching the front top part of the bumper. Finally did the mod and cut off the top part and now the issue is gone. The rpm is about 2wice as heavy as the stocker and it takes a lot of dremeling to get it where it needs to be. Reduces ground clearance and makes you scrub after landing jumps. Not too good for racing. This review is all from a racer's perspective. I would consider this a basher's bumper. No breakage and absorbs impact very well. Wouldn't reccomend this for racing, but i'd say it is a very good investment for the basher.

One little tumble (no crash, just a roll-over) on the 1st run with this bumper and it snapped right in the center of the top bar. I do not recommend this bumper. I wish I had waited for the backorder of the factory bumper.

Why would they write up such a great review for a crappy product? Come on RPM I expect more from your CO. If you land on the front end hard it will snap. Maybe if you added middle reinforcment it hold up better.

Like most RPM products, it is very high quality and will last a long time. However, there are some big cons to this product. First, it's very thick, and you loose some ground clearance. Not a good thing if you race. Secondly, the front bumper has an annoying habit of hooking under the front of your body. It causes the front of the body to "rear up" and looks nasty going down the track. It's really annoying. I ended up cutting off the top part of the bumper to correct this. If you are a basher, this is great product to have.

Positive: I like the look.
Negative:
The RPM bumper makes the SCTE lose a lot of ground clearance, and after jumps the body catches on the bumper and sticks upwards. Wouldn't buy again.
