MIP has designed, developed, and manufactured the Worlds first near zero maintenance clutch for three pin flywheels on .21 thru .28 size engines. All MIP 3 Shoe CLUTCH RING™ systems are stock replacements for most 1/8 scale buggies and trucks.

MIP 3 Shoe Clutch Ring (Standard: Heavy)
I use the MIP 3 shoe clutch (Heavy) in my Tekno RC Losi 8T Electric conversion. Tekno has a 3 shoe electric clutch adaptor which uses standard nitro shoes. I noticed that I would lose some snap during extended length runs and wanted to use a carbon based shoe for more consistency.
I found these and gave them a shot. Since electric motors have instant torque vs nitro, I used heavy for quick engagment of the clutch. No slipping, very little wear, and clutch bell temps are a tad over 100 degrees.
Install was simple to understand, just getting that spring around the clutch ring made for a joyous time.

MIP 3 Shoe Clutch Ring (Standard: Heavy)
have this clutch on rc8
installation was pretty easy (seems simple, but that's a stiff little spring...)
hits soft, but grabs well once rpms are up. provides good traction on loose tracks, kinda 'electric' feel.
could use 'light' version for more snap, but there's also less surface area/contact patch..
would recommend lightening these over the 'light' version.
great alternative to a normal clutch. no maintenance, just dust to blow out.
ps...you can hear this clutch system. don't be alarmed by the sliding noise you hear when going from a stop.
