Werks Team Line B3 Pro-C .21 Off-Road Competition Buggy Engine (Standard Plug) (08 Spec)
This motor is garbage. One gallon and the pinch is gone. This is my fifth Werks motor. I took the rear plate off to examine the sleeve and noticed the rear bearing is not ceramic as stated. I called the factory and they said they did a "rolling" change to remove the ceramic to make it cheaper. Mission accomplished! They said they would offer me a B7 pro for $199 for my troubles. Good luck. I will not buy another one.

Werks Team Line B3 Pro-C .21 Off-Road Competition Buggy Engine (Standard Plug) (08 Spec)
DONT buy this piece of crap,i have about 1 gallon on mine and the front bearing is leaking badly so i went to my lhs to get a front bearing but when i opened the engine i saw that the main problem is the rear bearing, it's totally shot.i already paid $22 for the front bearing and im not going to pay another $35 for a rear.i called werks hoping they would at least send me a rear bearing but no help from them.
p.s. i am not a noob i'm in the hobby for 5 years and i had several engines over the years, most of them cheap RTR engines but all of them lasted 10-12 gallons.

Werks Team Line B3 Pro-C .21 Off-Road Competition Buggy Engine (Standard Plug) (08 Spec)
I ran a JPX.21 in my 8.5 last season and finally blew on me towards the end of season, needed a new motor for winter and this seemed to be a good choice. (I currently run a Werks TL.28pro in my Hyper ST pro great motor). it may not be as fast as my Jammin motor was but it is a hell of lot more consistant. Idles forever and hold a great tune. Be sure to run a lot of fuel though this motor before you race tune. We try and run a winter series here in Colorado (hard to do with weather changes), we ran in december and I finshed 2nd in the open buggy class, this little motor did not miss a beat the whole day, love it. So if your short on cash try this little guy out works great.

P.S. Thanks Samual Brock for all your reviews so far all of your advice is paying off. Next motor GRP .21

Werks Team Line B3 Pro-C .21 Off-Road Competition Buggy Engine (Standard Plug) (08 Spec)
This motor has one hell of a pinch, burnt up two starter boxes getting this thing running, so far i have had 1/4 of a gallon through it and it has no balls yet.
If you are after a motor for fast tracks with ski jumps this is not the motor for you, if you are after a motor for good low end, tight technical track no ski jumps. Then for the price this is the motor for you!

Werks Team Line B3 Pro-C .21 Off-Road Competition Buggy Engine (Standard Plug) (08 Spec)
thanks Sam good info my motor was just a dud, thats why I sent it back to Werks (they have great customer service) I have been racing nitro cars and boats for over 15 years with over 30 race motors from OPS, CMB, RB, Picco, and now OS with no problems. When I get the motor back I will try and run it again. My friend has the same motor so I know it is good. Stock they run hot and are not the best race motor IMO. -//- Ok here is my update, this motor runs hot if you race with it. It starts the race great then gets hot and starts to slow down. The head is just to small for competition. Run it rich, lots of smoke and it still runs hot at the end of a 15 or 30 min race. Run it at race tune and and it temps at 280 every time. This motor has about 2 gallons on it and still has lots of compression and runs great, Its just not a race motor. Save your money if you race and get a race motor, if you bash this will be great. -//- This motor is good, its not quite as fast as the V-SPECS at my track but probibly not $100 slower. It runs great all night and for $189 you cant go wrong. If you want a good motor get this, if you want a great motor get a V-SPEC if you can drive and race at a small track you can win with this. P.S. the picture they show is not how my motor showed up, the motor I got from A Main 08 spec came with the new composite carb. And for all that go the V-SPEC way you might want to keep the part # for the ROD close by.

Werks Team Line B3 Pro-C .21 Off-Road Competition Buggy Engine (Standard Plug) (08 Spec)
Hey man, just want to let you know the heating problem you think you are having, this engine will run around 250-260 and be very happy and last for a long time. these engines run a little hot they arent real happy at 220-230 they are happy over 250. Word of many Werks engines owned you CAN NOT tune a Werks engine by head temps tune them by sound and smoke if you got a good smoke trail then your good even if its showing high head temps The B7's are the same way you can even check on Werks web site and they will tell you dont tune to temp tune by smoke and sound..... A lot of engines can be tuned by temp (well give you a good base tune anyhow) The B3 is a fine engine and mod'ed will out run a V-Spec and still be cheaper and last you longer and give better fuel mileage at the same time. more less all im saying is dont be scared to run them higher then you would most engines there run hotter thats just the nature of Werks engines. -//- Lol I go through stuff like water, I buy it i test it and i sell it (thank god for eBay) thats pretty much it.. This is a great engine however i well tell you it DOESNT have lots of top end... but it has such huge low and mid range that what you can do is go up a tooth or two on the CB and pick up some top... My B3 hot mods with a 14t CB in my H8.5 with a JP-3 run 46MPH on GPS... stock prolly 41-42.... but like i said this engine has MEGA low to mid power infact it has so much that you cant use it all so running a 14-15 even 16T CB will get you by. -//- This is one of my short track engines, I run RB's, Novarossi's, Werks and GRP.. All are great race winning engines and all i will run at races. This Engine is one of the fastest 3 ports out there. I have a few 07 spec and 3 08 specs all moded by CEO and im gonna tell you on short tracks there awesome..... Ill tell you this its got more bottom then prolly any other engine besides my CEO RB C6BBT or my CEO Novarossi plus 21-5KT...for 225 bucks the engine not moded will give you more low end and mid range then a Vspec P5X pretty much any other .21 out there... its top end is fair but not crazy... its about as strong on top as a Vspec, S5, it wont run with my GRP .21 MRT but it does have more low end power then it... my C6 BBT is faster from bottom to top but its a 500 dollar engine to. this engine will give you 9 1/2 mins a tank running it with a JP-3 and all the bottom and mid range you can handle and ive have 3 over 12 gallons with only cermic bearings put in and replaced cod rods at 8 gallons... they wasnt broke but they had a lot of fuel on them so it was time. this engine has plenty of power even for truggys as long as your not on a long really fast track... this engine will pull a way from most out of the turns and run with them down the straight as long as it isnt longer then 250 feet. I love mine and will buy more there great engines as are ALL Werks engines. and the B7 is a ton of engine as well and one of the fastest out there and plus they come stock with Ceramic rear bearings!!!! nice!!! for 225.00 its a steal and will make you very happy and last a long time for you and holds a tune to a T the carbs on werks engines are GREAT as long as its the TL pro carb the ones on the non TL pros SUCK..if you have this engine moded then you will like the top end a lot better however the mods dont change the bottom and mid much because they are so strong to start with.... and 10+ mins on a tank... I pit at 9 1/2 and im safe... 10 mins and your running on the fuel line... they run very happy at 210ish and will idle all day...they NEVER flame out.... I really can go on and on about this engine and the B7 TL pro....and the .28 TL pro too.....if you need GOBS of low and mid range this is the engine for you.... If you need GOBS bottom to Top then get the B7 TL pro... just to tell you about the B7 its faster from bottom to top then my GRP MRT .21 and P5X and WS7 III and every other engine i have accept for my C6 BBT and its faster on top then it is.... its also moded by CEO and i have 3 of them... One has 8 gallons on it and is PERFECT will go 4-6 more easy... Werks engines TAKE A LONG TIME to fully break in.... at 2 gallons the pinch will just be turning from pinch to compression.... 2 1/2 gallons to be totaly broke in... also they are PINCHED VERY tight....prolly the tightest pinched engines you can buy..... and they take pre heating for well over a gallon... if you dont pre heat you will be replacing the con-rod in 4 or so gallons because the pinch will make it shorten... I replace con-rods at 8 gallons but i pre heat till pinch has turned to compression. all in all the best engine out there for under 300 bucks... if you have 300 bucks buy the B7 or the GRP ninja 5 port.... if you have 225 theres only one to buy... THIS ONE

Werks Team Line B3 Pro-C .21 Off-Road Competition Buggy Engine (Standard Plug) (08 Spec)
Ive always wanted to buy a Werks engine but this is the only one in my price range, can I setup my car to still have top end with a 3 port? Also, does Samuel Brock own everything at AMAINHOBBIES?
