This is the Losi Nitrotec R21 .21 Off-Road Competition Buggy Engine. Developed for racers, the Nitrotec R21 Race Engine was designed to produce race winning power, crisp throttle response, and exceptional run time. The R21 is produced with the highest quality parts manufactured by Novarossi, but this engine is more than a rebadged Nova. This engine is a unique design that has been developed by Losi with Novarossi and is unlike any Novarossi engine, past or present.
With features that include a lightened aluminum/silicone alloy dome/dish piston that is unique to the R21, a 4 port sleeve and a turbo plug combustion chamber, this engine has top end components that rival the best in the world. While high quality bearings, a hardened steel turbo ported crank shaft, a lightened knife edged connecting rod and 'stuffer' style back plate offer the durability and lifespan you have come to expect from any product that wears the Losi name. The Losi Nitrotec R21 is a ideal choice for any of the 8IGHT family of vehicles, or any other 1/8 scale off road vehicle.
Recommended Tuned Pipe and Manifold:After extensive dyno and track testing, it has been determined that this engine produces the best balance of power and run time with the
Losi RE11 tuned pipe set. The
Losi RE10 tuned pipe set produces more bottom end at the expense of reduced run time, and is recommended only when racing in high traction conditions.
Recommended Glow Plug:Losi recommends the LOSR2836, or
Novarossi C6TGC Glow Plugs.
