This is the O.S. Speed 21XZ-B V-Spec Tuned Off-Road Competition Buggy Engine. In 2006, the IFMAR Off-Road World Championship was captured by Mark Pavidis using the O.S. SPEED 21VZ-B V-Spec. At the 2008 IFMAR Off-Road World Championship, Atsushi Hara claimed the victory with the O.S. SPEED 21VZ-B V-Spec II. The O.S. SPEED has once again evolved with a completely new design that surpasses the previous model in every aspect, resulting in the SPEED 21XZ-B.

Based on the user-friendly features of the MAX 21XZ-B, the SPEED 21XZ-B features a tungsten-balanced and silicone-ramped crankshaft with DLC coating; a lightweight, low-gravity cooling head with cooling holes; a ceramic ball bearing, and more. These features allow the SPEED 21XZ-B to deliver instant throttle response and powerful torque over the entire rpm range. With the SPEED 21XZ-B, the power you need to win is available on command at your fingertips.

Features:

  • Race-Winning Power Characteristics: A tried and true 3-port sleeve design (3 bypass ports, 1 exhaust), provides smooth, crisp acceleration. This has been achieved through a combination of a specially designed "SPEED" inner head and sleeve porting. Fuel mileage has been improved by 8%*
  • Outer Head: The low-gravity, black-anodized outer head features laser engraving and has been heavily machined for improved cooling and extra weight reduction. The overall height is 9mm shorter than the previous model, providing a lower center of gravity and a greater level of stability.
  • Carburetor: A newly designed 21J2(B) carburetor includes 6, 6.5, and 7mm aluminum venturi's. Even the smallest 6mm venturi doesn’t affect its easy tuning characteristics.
  • Ceramic Ball Bearing: The black anodized crankcase adds a ceramic ball bearing in the rear to reduce rolling resistance.
  • Crankshaft: The crank intake passage is silicone ramped for a better fuel mixture flow. A tungsten insert is pressed in the counterweight to optimize inertia mass. DLC coating is applied to minimize frictional loss as well as improve durability and lifespan.
*NOTE: The result of internal testing in comparison to the previous model. Test results may vary depending on the conditions of use.

Includes:
  • T-P3 Glow Plug
  • Exhaust Gasket
  • 18mm, 16mm & 3mm Dust Cap Set
  • 6mm, 6.5mm & 7mm Carburetor Venturi's

O.S. Speed 21XZ-B V-Spec Tuned Off-Road Competition Buggy Engine
Very good engine, extremely smooth and it lives up to the hype and price tag so far. I'm extremely pleased with it and will most likely be getting one for the truggy too when the time is right.

O.S. Speed 21XZ-B V-Spec Tuned Off-Road Competition Buggy Engine
I fail to see how the last review is a review at all. He doesn't even have one. I on the other hand say that this engine is by far, THE engine to have. Its has a great powerband and is more efficient than other .21 size engines I have ran, and O.S. has made it easy to tune, an almost impossible trait to find in this class of race engines. $500 is not a lot of money for an engine of this quality and refinement. The last guy shouldn't knock it because he cant afford it.

O.S. Speed 21XZ-B V-Spec Tuned Off-Road Competition Buggy Engine
By far, the easiest hi-performance mill out there to tune, this thing just runs even with a bad tune, it is not has powerful has the Toronero or a C6, but a lot less temperamental on the tune and that makes it more reliable in my books, is it worth the money? for me it is, as I get to enjoy driving the car, and not worry about flameouts due to weather changes, my Novarossis and RB's are very tune picky, this engine just runs.

O.S. Speed 21XZ-B V-Spec Tuned Off-Road Competition Buggy Engine
HAHAHA! Another 500$ engine. Got lots of b5's at my track and you cannot tell the difference. I have had speeds, ninjas, vspec's, jpx etc. I really thought O.S. was going to come out with a high quality engine for a competitive price. Guess NOT! It's a shame really. I love o.s. engines but 500 bucks is ridiculous and i can't afford it anymore. Meanwhile you can order it over sea's for 100 bucks less. Does that make sense? Anyway, they are great engines and if you can afford it, i say go for it. But i was really hoping they were going to follow the trend of cheeper equally performing engines.
