This is the Reedy Sonic 4.5 Turn Short Course Sensored Brushless 550 Motor. 4WD Short Course is quickly becoming the one of the most popular competition classes in America. To satisfy the power demands that this class requires, Reedy developed the Sonic 550. Designed specifically for the Short Course 4WD class and intended strictly for competition, the Sonic 550 features a lightweight case design with extra-large strategically placed vent holes to reduce operating temperatures. Lower temperatures result in less fade over the course of a race, longer run times, and increased motor life.

Sensored operation results in a smooth and controllable power band with no cogging. A high-torque rotor is supported by dual ball bearings for maximum power output and reliability, while adjustable timing allows for fine tuning for particular applications and tracks. Service is easy and economical thanks to a completely rebuildable design.

Reedy Sonic Short Course Sensored Brushless 550 Motor (4.5T)
Awesome motor! It's so smooth and powerful. It has a very controllable powerband. Not as torquey as my old castle 1410 but that's why I love it! I'm faster around the track with this motor. I'm running 12/62 pinion and spur on a sc10 4x4 and it hauls ass! It would probably like a 13 tooth pinion but it runs cool and I fast enough like this so I'm happy with it.
