Dynamite Prophet Sport AC/DC Peak Charger
This is a good basic charger for NiCd and NiMH battery packs. This will charge at 4 A with DC input, so if you already have a power supply, it is no big deal. This will not charge lithium battery types.
Pros:
- Good price
- Reliable
- AC/DC input
- Super easy to operate
Cons:
- With AC input, will only charge at 2 A. This means it will take over 2 hours to charge a 4600 mAh pack.
- When charge cycle is done, it beeps every minute, indefinitely, instead of just quietly going to trickle.
Recommendation: If you can get one for $15 used, it is a good deal as a backup charger. But for $5 or $10 more, you can do better nowadays. At least look for something that will charge at 4 A with AC input.
