This is the ProTek R/C "Supreme Power" 3S 1100mAh, 20C Lithium Polymer short length battery pack. This battery pack is shorter than the regular PTK-LP-1100-3S20 and is a perfect fit for the Parrot AR.Drone Quadricopter Flying Video Game! This battery has 10% more capacity than the stock battery that comes with the AR.Drone for longer flight times and has a 20C discharge rate for better performance (the stock batter is only 10C). On top of that, this battery weighs less than the stock battery for the AR.Drone, further improving the performance of the Quadricopter.

This pack has a Reverse Polarity Mini Tamiya connector installed to plug right into the AR.Drone, and comes with a 4-pin Align/E-Flite style balance connector that also works with the stock AR.Drone battery charger.

Unlike most other Lithium Polymer batteries, these batteries can be charged at up to 2 times the rated current, or 2C! If your charger is capable, you can charge these batteries at 2.2A for faster charge times!

  • Connector Type: Mini Tamiya
  • Balancer Type: Align/E-Flite compatible (XH)

  • Maximum Continuous Discharge: 20C (44A)

NOTE: The AR.Drone uses a proprietary 'Mini Tamiya' style connector, with reverse polarity (+ and - wires reversed). If you intend to use this battery for an application other than an AR.Drone, you will need to reverse the polarity of the plug, or install a different battery connector.

IMPORTANT:
1) DO NOT leave the battery in your model when charging
2) DO NOT leave unattended when charging
3) ALWAYS balance charge the battery
4) ALWAYS use a LiPo charging bag
5) YOU MUST use a Li-Poly specific charger to charge the pack (NiMH or NiCD only chargers WILL NOT WORK!)
6) YOU MUST not over discharge the Li-Poly battery pack
7) READ & UNDERSTAND the instructions carefully before operating this battery

NOTE: When using high energy Li-Polymer Batteries, please do not over-discharge or over-charge batteries as this will result in over heated batteries. Discharging capacity can't exceed 80% of the max capacity of the pack after full charging to ensure a good cycle performance. It is recommended to fully charge a brand new battery before using and only discharge the battery 50% for first 5 cycles. Always monitor race time and/or set a low voltage warning on ESC (End voltage cannot be lower than 3.2v per cell) Do not use the battery that has too low a voltage.

Do not expose batteries to sunshine or store/charge batteries at the temperature above 35°C or in a closed car. The high temperature environment could cause damage to the pack or make it burst. If the battery becomes hot while fast charging, high current discharging or racing, do not charge the battery until it has cooled completely. Wait about 20 mins, then inspect prior to recharging.

ProTek RC 3S "High Power" Li-Poly 20C Short Battery Pack (11.1V/1100mAh) (AR.Drone)
This sure seems like a great batt pack and I will be ordering another one but for the AR Drone you should note that the product description on the web site is misleading. Specifically the misleading description is:

“…comes with a 4-pin Align/E-Flite style balance connector that also works with the stock AR.Drone battery charger. “

I don’t know about the Drone 1, but for the AR Drone 2 you CANNOT charge the battery with the charger that comes with the Drone. You will need a separate charger and likely also need to buy or make a proper connector for the power lead.

On the plus side it does have a little more capacity than the stock AR Drone battery, is lighter and best of all is half the price. For flight time, I got a few seconds under 11 minutes with moderate flying in conditions that were really too windy to be flying the drone.

The pack has no hard (protective) case and therefore is more susceptible to damage in hard crashes, therefore I suggest you stick with the stock battery when you are learning, or in conditions where a crash is likely. Then when you are ready stock up on these babies and fly for longer times at less cost.
