Chico, California, January 12, 2012 - A Main Hobbies, along with ProTek R/C, introduces its pro racing team drivers for the 2012 season. The team will contest major off-road races in the U.S. and abroad, leading up to the 2012 IFMAR Fuel Off-Road World Championships in Argentina. You can follow along with the A Main Hobbies - ProTek R/C racing team by logging onto the team's official blog site, http://www.amainhobbies.com/team, where each driver will blog about his experiences at big events, local races, and other R/C racing-related topics.
Among the exciting announcements are chassis changes for all five drivers, including new signing Dylan Rodriguez. "The drivers on our A-level team will all be running a mix of vehicles of their choice, since they are sponsored 100% by us," said A Main Hobbies CEO Kendall Bennett. "This way, our team represents a wider range of the brands of products that we sell." All five drivers will use ProTek R/C batteries, chargers, power supplies, and accessories exclusively.

Returning for his second year with A Main Hobbies, former National Champion Chad Bradley leads the star-studded group that is excited to get started in 2012. The biggest change to Chad's program for the new year is in the 1/8-scale off-road buggy class, as the veteran from Valencia, CA makes the long-rumored switch from JQ Products and will drive the Mugen Seiki MBX6R, the brand with whom he won the 2001 ROAR National Championship in that division. Chad's off season changes also include an engine switch, trading O.S. Engines to run the new Werks engines. Chad will continue with the Team Losi Racing 8IGHT-T 2.0, the truck with which he completed the 2011 season, and he will once again compete in Pro 4 short course racing with the OFNA NEXX10SC.
Team manager Marty Korn, from Woodland Hills, CA, brings his experience back for the third year, making a chassis switch from JQ Products to the Kyosho MP9 TKI2. However, he'll continue with the Team Losi Racing 8IGHT-T 2.0 that he drove at the end of 2011, along with the Losi TEN-SCTE and Team Associated SC10 Factory Team, the latter with which he won Pro 2 SC at the 2011 Dirt Nitro Challenge and finished third at the 2011 Silver State Nitro Challenge.
Seventeen-year old Las Vegas native Dylan Rodriguez joins a pair of teenagers on the A Main Hobbies team for 2012, and will start the year on new cars. "I want to thank Mugen Seiki America for all of their support over the last two years," said Dylan Rodriguez, switching to Kyosho's Inferno MP9 TKI2, MP9E, and ST-RR EVO.
Curtis Door moves up to the A Main Hobbies' pro team after racing as a support driver with ProTek R/C. The sixteen-year old opted for a trio of Team Losi Racing cars; the 8IGHT 2.0 and 8IGHT-T 2.0 for nitro racing, and for electric racing the Team Losi Racing 22 buggy. Curtis will drive the Team Associated B44.1 Factory Team in 4WD buggy racing.
Joining the A Main Hobbies team for select 2012 events will be last year's breakout star Austin Blair, the seventeen-year old from Tracy, CA that impressed the RC world by qualifying for the semifinals in both divisions at last year's ROAR Fuel Off-Road Nationals, and followed that up with top-ten finishes in both classes at the ROAR 1/8-Scale Electric Off-Road Nationals. Austin is the only driver maintaining his chassis stable for 2012, sticking with the Kyosho Inferno MP9 TKI2, ST-RR EVO, and Tekno RC V4 Conversion-equipped MP9, along with the Team Losi Racing 22 buggy and Team Associated B44.1 Factory Team.
