Futaba 3PL 2.4GHz FHSS Radio System w/R2004GF Receiver
first off, I am very happy with this radio for the price...has enough features, range is as far as i can see the car... i have always hated antennas....love having none on the car or the transmitter..this radio has never let me down, and the car has not had even one twitch by itself since i installed it..or lost signal etc....the FM radio I had before would drive the car by itself often catching other signals and thats not good when the car can go over 70mph...even a twitch at that speed could ruin your day... ok the reason for these reviews is to inform others of possible cons etc... the radio is nice enough, but it still is in the "cheap category"...but better cheap..the trigger is smooth enough and doesnt feel too cheap, but i did notice the steering wheel does not have enough throw from side to side and is a little bit springy...also the wheel has a slight wobble...nothing too major, but its there...i took it apart but could not tighten or adjust anything... the short steering throw makes it much harder to make slight steering movements and there are no adjustments other than giving up turn radius by limiting the steering servo movement...they could have at least made the steering exponential so slight wheel movement would not be so drastic....the old hitec fm radio i used before this was in same price range, and it did not have this issue...mainly just because it had more wheel throw from side to side... This radio will do the job, but if you are on the fence about stepping up to the $250 radios, or you can afford the step up to a $250 radio,....spend the extra money for that better feel and build quality...better in the long run...i doubt this would be good enough for an actual race....good enough for bashing and messin around like I do.....ill most likely end up buying something nicer and keep this for friends or backup etc...you will be a better driver with a better wheel for sure...

Futaba 3PL 2.4GHz FHSS Radio System w/R2004GF Receiver
I have been using 3PL for one year and 4 months. It binds and doesn't lose connection with its receivers. I have three cars on this transmitter and I don't get glitches. The trim adjustment and endpoint adjustment are very simple. Dual rate lever is right where it should be so you can quickly adjust it if the car is understeering or oversteering/traction rolling. At the price it is offered, this can't be beat. I am finally upgrading to a radio system three times more expensive but this has served me well for my beginner to intermediate level onroad racing.

Futaba 3PL 2.4GHz FHSS Radio System w/R2004GF Receiver
This is an outstanding Radio! While racing on the local hobby shops nitro track my old radio died, So in a pinch and on a budget I bought the 3pl not expecting much of difference from my old radio but... WOW! It binds really fast and the response is insane. I always felt like I was fighting my buggy to go where I wanted and changed set up constantly. Now I know the problem was my radio and I wish I would have bought this transmitter sooner. My buddy's noticed a difference in my driving immediately as I pulled fast laps over and over with precise control. This is my first Futaba and I am 100% sold! Can't wait to get the next step up as my driving improves even more, but for now this thing has all the bells and whistles I need. I just couldn't wait to get home and find a place to post a great review for the Futaba 3PL. I am going to get another one for my other buggy as well.

Futaba 3PL 2.4GHz FHSS Radio System w/R2004GF Receiver
I've had this system since 9/2011 and it's been great. First off, the fact that there's no external antenna, only uses four AA batteries, receiver (R2004GF) has four channels, and can store 10 models is what got me. And this model has what I would call the large finger trigger. Very comfortable and relatively easy to use. If this is your first 2.4G radio, you will be happy with this one. I bought the 4PLS transmitter from a friend and that trigger is small like the Traxxas ones are. I confirmed with Futaba the triggers are not interchangeable. So I had 'widened' that trigger to be as comfortable as this 3PL unit.
